A Chinese man lost control of his white Ford Ranger pickup truck early morning on October 31, colliding with a Mercedes-Benz before careening into a home decor store on Sukhumvit Road, near Thepprasit intersection, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. The incident occurred around 02:05 and prompted a swift response from local authorities.

Police Lieutenant Sanan Kotanont, deputy investigator of Pattaya City Police Station, received the report and immediately coordinated with Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan rescue workers to investigate the scene.

Upon arrival, authorities found the Ford Ranger, license plate from Chonburi, with damage after colliding with a bronze Mercedes-Benz, license plate from Bangkok. The impact had pushed the pickup off its course, sending it straight into TCK Sales and Services Co., Ltd., a home improvement and decor materials store. The storefront’s windows were shattered, and a lot of the interior merchandise was left in ruins.

The driver, identified as Mr. Zhang Yuelei, a 42-year-old Chinese national, appeared to be intoxicated. Authorities promptly took him to the police station for further questioning and for alcohol testing.

The store owner reported that Mr. Zhang claimed he swerved to avoid a motorcycle driving against traffic, causing him to veer into the store. However, police have yet to confirm this statement and will review CCTV footage to verify the details.

Gee, he must have been going quite fast to cause that much damage and end up so far in the shop.
