Loudest most Jarring ring-tone for Android?: What is the loudest ringtone one can select?

Recommended Posts

Dear Folks,

Unfortunately, my new a55 5G phone is not as loud as my former beloved Samsung Note4 phone.

Already, I have missed many calls due to being in a different room from the room my phone seemed to be in.

Some of my friends mistakenly seem to have the idea that I am avoiding them, but I am not.

This cannot go on much longer, before I will lose the last few friends that have stuck by me during the past several years.

Therefore, can anyone suggest the LOUDEST ringtone one can download and add to an Android Phone, using the newest Android OS?

I do not mean some sort of SIREN Sound.

I just mean something JARRING, which will get my attention when I am outside my house, or in another room.

I am really very dissatisfied with the ringtones I have tried, among the ones that are provided by default in the newest Android OS.

The a55 58, with 12GB RAM, and 256GB of on-board storage that I have was a very good deal for the money....

But, it's now FLAGSHIP phone, by any means.

I have already added 256GB of storage, via a MICRO-SD card.

So, I am now satisfied with the memory and phone.....(for the low price I paid for all....).

But, IMHO, the speakers/volume leaves MUCH to be desired.

No.

I am not going deaf.

I just need to be able to HEAR the ringtone....UNMISTAKABLY, the very instant my last two friends might phone me.

Thank you.

Regards,

Gamma

Note:  Sometimes, I get the RINGTONE mixed up with the sounds of various NOTIFICATIONS....

THIS is why I need something LOUD, JARRING, and unmistakably ....RINGTONE-ish.

Another thing to consider: get an Apple Watch or another type of smart watch that will notify you if you get a phone call.  On the Apple Watch, you can even answer calls right from the watch.

"I'm not going deaf".....Is that your own assessment or that of your otologist.....Just asking:coffee1:

It's according to the audiometer that I purchased on Lazada, last year.

download free ringtone app

I just tried the app, "Old Telephone Ringtones"...but...too many ads.

Also, I selected MODERN OFFICE ringtone from this app, and it's GOOD.

Just too many ads, I think.

When I used this same app on the NOTE4, years ago, it seemed to work better, and with no ads.

I dunno, maybe I already paid for the no-ad version, back then...

Connect it via Bluetooth to an external loudspeaker. Very easy🙏

Is it viable to do what many of us do and keep the phone in your pocket, with vibration turned on for additional awareness?

As previously mentioned, my smart watch (Garmin) also vibrates when a call comes in, even if the phone is in another room.

No pockets.

I rarely wear pants or shirts while at my house.

I am always at my house.

My wife is hard of hearing and routinely misses calls. I determined from Internet search that the old model  Samsung S10 phone has the loudest ringer measured in decibels so I bought her a fully refurbished phone and set it up.

I went through scores of 'ringtones' with her listening for what she heard as 'loudest' unsuprisingly this was one with high frequency trilling.

Suggest you search for an Internet site showing Android phone volume comparison. Seems to me, the newer models have diminished volume due to case size and electronics limitations.

Thank you.

Very helpful suggestion.

I have found that the Modern Office on Old Telephone Ringtones, might be best for those requiring a ringtone that can be more easily heard on "the other side of the house".

Actually, although nobody here seems to believe me, the problem is actually not hearing-loss related.

One other point to consider:

With age-related hearing loss, it is often the case that one looses high-frequency sensitivity first.

And, if this is the case, then, perhaps, a ringtone with lower frequencies might work better.

Testing is is always best.

One might also keep in mind that low-frequency sound penetrates walls more easily than high-frequency sound... (or so I have been told).

Also, keep this kind of data in mind.

For average humans....

Check other studies, as well.

If you want to make sense of this second graph, then you might go here:

https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.09.03.281717v1.full

YC is the Young Control group....

The point is that high-frequency sensitivity plummets like a stone....compared to the control group.

No.

I do not wear what you suggest:

Around the house, I wear a towel, at most.

This is why my phone is always....

In some other room.

This is the problem.

If I wore clothes, then.....

Problem solved, I guess.

You can search different ringtones or add your own

(an mp3 of Preußens Gloria will knock the cobwebs off it - and ensure checkups from the authorities - no bad thing with advancing years and diminishing health care )

But the addition of a 'booster' app (Volume Booster GOODEV works well with android phones) will raise your volume output to a whole new level
