Popular Post Social Media Posted November 1, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 1, 2024 Former President Donald Trump has launched a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS News, claiming that the network deceptively edited an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris to sway public opinion and unfairly bolster her image. Trump’s legal team contends that the alleged editing was intended to mislead voters by presenting Harris’ responses on the sensitive issue of the Israel-Hamas conflict in a favorable light for the Democrats. KAMALA self-immolates on national TV like a Free Palestine SJW lighting herself on fire.🔥 See the fear in her eyes when she realizes this CBS journalist can’t be gaslit. 👀 "Arrivals quadrupled from the last year of President Trump. Was it a mistake to loosen the immigration… pic.twitter.com/efKJyNCMT1 — Recall Katie Hobbs (@AmericanHubener) October 8, 2024 The lawsuit, filed in the Northern District of Texas, alleges that CBS manipulated Harris’ responses during her “60 Minutes” interview with reporter Bill Whitaker to influence voter perceptions as the 2024 election approaches. According to the suit, CBS aired an extended, more complex response by Harris on October 6, during a “Face the Nation” preview. Harris reportedly commented, “Well, Bill … the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.” However, the full broadcast on “60 Minutes” a day later presented Harris with a more streamlined answer, highlighting her statement that, “We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.” Trump’s attorneys argue that these selective edits, which were not made publicly available in their uncut form, are part of a broader CBS strategy “to tip the scales in favor of the Democratic Party” through news distortion that was “intended to confuse, deceive, and mislead the public.” The suit also references Trump’s prior public call for CBS to release the unedited transcript, which he claims would reveal bias and selective framing. CBS responded to the lawsuit, refuting the claims as “completely without merit.” A spokesperson for the network stated that “60 MINUTES fairly presented the Interview to inform the viewing audience, and not to mislead it,” affirming the network’s commitment to responsible and unbiased journalism. CBS had previously acknowledged trimming Harris’ response, maintaining that it was a necessary edit to include more content within the program’s allotted time. “When we edit any interview, whether a politician, an athlete, or movie star, we strive to be clear, accurate, and on point,” the network had said on October 20. The legal filing calls for a jury trial and substantial damages, alleging that CBS’s actions violate Texas laws prohibiting deceptive acts in business practices. Trump, who has previously declined interview requests from “60 Minutes,” has labeled the alleged editing as potentially “the Biggest Scandal in Broadcast History.” CBS has stated it intends to vigorously defend itself against the claims. Popular Post neeray Posted November 1, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 1, 2024 The king of lawsuits, whether as plaintiff or defendant, is at it again, defending his title as the most litigious person in America. But now he thinks in billions, not millions or (little) hundreds of thousands. And, as Trump claimed ........ “the Biggest Scandal in Broadcast History.” Oh no, another Trump "biggest in history" claim. 6 1 1 4 2

He was nominated to the position by President Donald Trump in 2017 and sworn in for the position in 2019. Conservative groups and Attorneys General in Texas tend to file cases in Kacsmaryk's jurisdiction so that he is likely to hear those cases, as he reliably rules against Democratic policies and for Republican policies. In 2023, he presided over a lawsuit regarding the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)'s approval of abortion medication mifepristone in 2000, and had issued a preliminary ruling suspending the approval of the drug, marking the first time a court tried to invalidate the approval of a drug over the FDA's objection. His injunction was lifted unanimously by the Supreme Court of the United States on June 13, 2024, restoring access to mifepristone under current FDA regulations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Kacsmaryk ******************* The US District Court in Northern Texas currently assigns cases in a way that any case filed in its Amarillo Division is automatically assigned to Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, a Trump appointee. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/11/01/media/trump-cbs-lawsuit-harris-60-minutes-interview/index.html 2 1 1 2

Popular Post thesetat2013 Posted November 1, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 1, 2024 Why is there argument over a lawsuit. Clearly, CBS changed the reply of Harris making her look like she said something intelligent. Which given the reasons for the interview and the repercussions if her replies were not good directly relate to the elections which are made by the voters perception of the candidate. Then the changes they made were not made to shorten the time to make room for more questions as CBS stated. The fact that they absolutely refuse to release the unedited version lends credence that CBS is hiding something that may damage how people perceive Harris. CBS is long known to side with Dems and shed them in a better light for the public to see. However, the lawsuit is going to be just the tip of the iceberg I think.. If Trump wins the election, I hope he encourages the FCC to pull the license from CBS for misleading the public. It is about time someone went after the networks for biased reporting. They are supposed to be unbiased giving news and information without choosing sides or making opinions. Even the head of the FCC demanded the unedited transcript of the interview and was told no. What right does CBS have to hide this from the public or the governing body like the FCC? I hope Trump wins the suit and hope that if he also wins the elections that he gets CBS off the air. 2 hours ago, Social Media said: Harris reportedly commented, “Well, Bill … the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.” However, the full broadcast on “60 Minutes” a day later presented Harris with a more streamlined answer, highlighting her statement that, “We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.” It is clear the replies she made for the edited and unedited version are different with both content and meaning. In the unedited reply she admits to her and the admin causing conflicts in the region. In the unedited one she does not and only uses double-talk. Saying a lot without any meaning. 2 4 1 2 8
Popular Post Srikcir Posted November 1, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 1, 2024 Trump sued convicted Michael Cohen for $500 million in reprisal for Michael's testimony implicating Trump in a crime. As the defendent Cohen demanded a live deposition from Trump and certain documents/emails. Trump continously refused until the court ordered him to appear to give testimony. Next day Trump drops the lawsuit. Trump litigates to intimidate people. That also indirectly affects ANYONE who have been harmed or scammed by Trump. 4 6 4 1

The argument is over the Texas law being invoked in the lawsuit. The lawsuit does not claim Trump was defamed by the network, said Geoffrey R. Stone, a First Amendment scholar and law professor at the University of Chicago, who reviewed the complaint. Instead, the suit attempts a novel use of a Texas statute that is meant to prevent advertisers from misleading the public about a product being sold — the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Consumer Protection Act. Stone called it a "misapplication" of the law. "That statute is about sales — a salesperson can be held liable for stating that a product has certain positive effects when he knows it doesn't," Stone said. "But CBS is not engaged in advertising here." https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-sues-cbs-news-60-minutes-interview/ 2 1 1
Popular Post WDSmart Posted November 2, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 2, 2024 Since when is it illegal for a network to publish an interview with the intentions of promoting the interviewee, and then editing it as they see fit? That's not the same as inciting people to riot or raping multiple women. 1 3 1 2

If it looks like BS, and it's said by a biased organisation, likely it is BS. I wish Trump success in his endeavor to give her a bit of what he's been getting re the so called justice system. Even if he does not win the court case, the publicity will ensure the voters know the sort of IMO devious and scurrilous shenanigans the anti Trumpers resort to. 3 2 1 1
