Why is there argument over a lawsuit.

The argument is over the Texas law being invoked in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit does not claim Trump was defamed by the network, said Geoffrey R. Stone, a First Amendment scholar and law professor at the University of Chicago, who reviewed the complaint. Instead, the suit attempts a novel use of a Texas statute that is meant to prevent advertisers from misleading the public about a product being sold — the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Consumer Protection Act.

Stone called it a "misapplication" of the law.

"That statute is about sales — a salesperson can be held liable for stating that a product has certain positive effects when he knows it doesn't," Stone said. "But CBS is not engaged in advertising here."

Since when is it illegal for a network to publish an interview with the intentions of promoting the interviewee, and then editing it as they see fit?

That's not the same as inciting people to riot or raping multiple women.

CBS had previously acknowledged trimming Harris’ response, maintaining that it was a necessary edit to include more content within the program’s allotted time. “When we edit any interview, whether a politician, an athlete, or movie star, we strive to be clear, accurate, and on point,” the network had said on October 20.

If it looks like BS, and it's said by a biased organisation, likely it is BS.

I wish Trump success in his endeavor to give her a bit of what he's been getting re the so called justice system.

Even if he does not win the court case, the publicity will ensure the voters know the sort of IMO devious and scurrilous shenanigans the anti Trumpers resort to.

The Trump team has already made a lot of noise about the CBS Harris interview. Nothing will happen on the case before the election.

What the voters will actually now know is that Donald Trump has filed another frivolous lawsuit.

And CBS is not PBS. Edited by jerrymahoney

They will also know what sort of underhand methods her supporters resort to against him.

Another frivolous lawsuit isn't going to lose him any votes- devious so called news organisations cheating to protect her probably will.

If they don't already know, this lawsuit between now and Tuesday isn't going to make any difference.

The election looks so close that even a few votes could be the decider, or a few less votes for Harris- same result. I'm sure there are a few out there that didn't know before that have not yet voted.

Trump doesn't need any help in Texas.

True the lawsuit might sway some voters in swing states  to vote for Trump. It may help other voters in those same swing states to realize that the Republican candidate is a total jerk.

Very typical for one of the most litigious and insecure men in the world. He is NOT a tribute to our gender. Hoping he loses big on Tuesday and then is sent to prison. The world would be a far better place.

Will you be doing the infamous "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...!" scream if he wins?

Goodness me, one would have to have been living in a cave on a desert island since 2016 to not know that he is a jerk.

He's not going to win based on being a nice human being. He's going to win because she failed to stop the illegals, she is a warmonger, and she has no policies of her own. Plus, she speaks weirdly.

Just remember, expat retirees who are cheering passionately for the Dem-Marxists with Liz Cheney & the warmongers, they will bring about WW3 and your pension will be decimated by hyperinflation. You will then have to return to your country unless you can keep topping up the 800,000 Baht with savings each year.

If that is true then what does this lawsuit have to do with it with it. The actual court filing has 11 instances of the word 'salad'.

You think people haven't heard that one before?

I'm at a loss to understand your point. Heard what before?
