Not sure which is worse between the ladies who cheat you ?...... or the managments in many of those posh real estate villa developpments that openly overcharge and cheat falangs who have pool villas on lease hold (all over Hua Hin, Hin Lek Fai for exemple), one really has to watch your step in Thailand.

A friend was overpaying her monthly utilities (water electric) directly to the managment. When she started checking she realised that they were cheating on the meter and that water was being over used by the gardeners who were getting kickbacks from the falang managment of this pool villa developpement in Hin Lek Fai.

Best thing before buying should it be Bangkok, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Phuket or whatever,  is to go over to the place you like but only talk to the real owners and not to the managment rental or sales staff or those who are just renting.

I was with my ex, we were dancing and drinking.    I decided I should prove to her that I had money, so I tossed her 50,000 baht wrapped in a rubber band.

We continued to party until closing time and then I asked for my money back.   She refused to give me back the 50,000 baht.

She is a mother with 2 kids.    I don't want to make her life difficult, but I don't think that I should let her get away with this - it won't do her or her family any good living off theft!

she thinks divorce settlement, forget it

You gave her 50k what chance do you think to have with the police, you might get a defamation claim against you.

Don't get stupid drunk next time.

Offer the police a cut of what you can recover. The police here are well known for certain talents.  I'm assuming your x wife is Thai.  Thais are afraid of the police.  Use it to your advantage.

This is not normal behaviour, what's wrong with you?

Stop listening to fools and miscreants.  Listen only to me.

Go to the police.  Embellish your story so it is in your favor.

You have nothing more to lose.

He does, ever heard of defamation.

Pretty despicable to try to frame someone for theft while giving money away while drunk.

I guess there is no shortage of foreigners in Thailand trying to prove beyond doubt they are idiots.

It's despicable to steal money while pretending to have a night out.

You have yet to learn about any conversation between them. You would make a poor investigator.

How would you know? You don't know.  You are impulsive. You came to a conclusion without asking anything more.

You, sir, are ignorant of the full facts.

It might feel like a significant amount to someone who languishes in Thailand on a tight budget, perhaps due to limited savings and a limited source of fixed income.

It is a significantly foolish amount to carry in cash.

What could go wrong?

A number of things.

Witness this thread.

She hasn't stolen anything, you gave it to her... It's only your arrogance that has made you lose the money, it's time for you to grow up...

You gave it to her voluntary and now demanding it back by force? I'm not allowed to use words here for this behaviour. More than disgusting.👎
