Pattaya is a world class resort.

It is not a high class resort.

Wait now. Do we believe you or chat GPT? Hmmmm....personally, I think I go with the chat. 😉

Reason: It was more funny. Especially the second answer.

Who cares if it's a world class resort or not?

TAT. Possibly the Thai soft power committee.

As they do care, does not matter what everyone else thinks. Thus world class it is

I have not been there and will not go, but even if it's a trashy area, dirty in some areas, has crime, gangs, drugs and drunks, it still has what some look for. New York City has almost all of what any would want in entertainment, and a lot more than Pattaya will ever have besides nice beaches, with just Coney Island there, but it's not a good place to live for many reasons. This is what one says...........https://blog.coverglassusa.com/important-aspects-of-a-luxury-resort

So a comment on Pattaya from someone who has bever been there, never will, and a deflection to a commentary on a City 13,000 km away from Pattaya?

The question was is Pattaya a world class resort. Re read what I wrote. I'm unbiased and compared it to another world class area, and provided a link that explains what makes a world class resort. You take what you hear, read and see and make a decision. I knew a lot about Thailand many years before I ever came here, and after I've been here over 6 years, see what I heard and read is true. Not all opinions are false, and studies and stats have evidence. I know exactly what Trump is, long before he became president, but I never vote because he's just another politician that promises the world and delivers just some, like all the others. Will he help the common man? We'll see. On the outside is a good place, because you look at everything then decide unbiased.

And It still seems like you are not qualified to answer. You seem to be very negative on the place, again, despite never having been there, nor do you seem unbiased. Fireworks displays coming soon here, now that is a World Class event.

How am I being negative? I know what tourist areas are like, and what Pattaya has isn't what I'm into. I have a girlfriend in Isaan and  I'm not a bar patron, and I've been to many beaches in many areas and prefer less people. I posted a link that shows what makes a world class resort. I've been to a few world class areas and they all provide much the same things. I am unbiased.

Strange how I avoided most of the festivals when I lived there. I lived right downtown too.

Everything felt "overkill" (overdone) so I started disliking what celebrations there were. It was always too crowded, too loud, or too much. Extreme one way or another, never right.

When I lived in Manhattan I liked going out, crowds and events, so it's not just me.

The misnomer in the question is 'class'...

Pattaya is a 'world renown' town, which attacts visitors from all over the globe.

However, its is not 'world class' as that term is usually used to describe someone or something of outstanding quality, skill, or ability that ranks among the best in the world.

Comparing Pattaya, or Thailand, to New York is sick.

NY is a World Class dump... weather sucks most of the time.

In Pattaya you get laid in 15min, if you want.

In NY only when laid down to your grave.

Two things are same - huge rats and trash everywhere. Even in Manhattan.

"A 2023 study estimates that there are approximately 3 million rats in New York, which is close to a third of New York's human population."

It's probably you. Tens of thousands of people did attend, time and time again. Did you go to the free Kenny G concert? It was better than I expected.

Sounds like a problem of your own making.

What are you into? You've never been there, but seem to think you know everything about it.

Confirmation bias. I also read lots and whilst some things turned out to be true, some things turned out to be quite different.
