Who? The 'bar caretaker' who changed his story?

Well yes..... I saw the same story on YT and there was another 3rd line he was using! Something about feeling sorry for her as she needed work, to go with the 'fake ID', and 'not actually working there despite there being a clocking in card for her'!

2 months working at a bar on soi bukkao... she is not wayward anymore and instead a hardworking bar girl. The owner knowingly accepted her to work there at that age and should be imprisoned. But I think the bright lights and music and drinks and easy fast money will be forever tarnished in her future.

It happens. I recall being in a BKK bar and on seeing a young girl there asked the mamasan why she was employing her. The answer I got was simply, 'she want to work to send money to family'....

If she had the ID card and showed her ageod enough to sell drinks then the bar manager has a problem becasue a lot of these girls look older than they are.  If she could do the job then what do you do?

I think the bigger probem is what the mother is going to do withher daughter.  Now that the girl has seen the easy money she can make selling beer and drinks she isnot going to be satisfied with country living and going to school.

She will leave agan maybe this time giving massage.

Hard to say but guarantee if the girl left on her own the first time she wil be gone soon for a second trip maybe Phuket.

agree ... once she gets a whif of that cashier, waiter, and other work .... she'll be hard to drag away.

I also know that it used to be the fishing village.

But during the Vietnam War era, it was developed as the place for US military's R&R.

That's how that place turned out to be known as today...

I don.t think that's 100% true.

The R&R for the US military was done around Sattahip area.

Pattaya was a tourist place from the get go.

Nope, we are decent people and don't stroll down seedy soi 6. We leave that for you and your mates. This is the second one of your mates being in the soi 6 news, isn't it?

The fact that many other people do "stroll down seedy soi 6" doesn't detract from the very strong probability that you have been unknowingly been captured on social media.

Loving your sanctimonious aura BTW. The Church of England is looking for a new leader.

The main Vietnam-era R&R spot was and always will be Bangkok. Pattaya was "discovered" by comparatively few US servicemen, probably on their third or fourth R&R and seeking something other than beer and pussy. The few US servicemen that frequented Sattahip and Samaesan were exactly that, the few that were based locally.

When it comes to actual tourists, the Swedes and Germans were the first.

I am inclined to not believe the 'bar caretaker'......!

A mother looking out for her wayward teenage kid!

The article said that the mother had been "...trying to look for two months...", not that she was yet able to look or even look out for, but she was "trying".  Who writes this drivel?

Get your facts right!   Certain aspects of prostitution are illegal in Thailand.

Yes, as I stated earlier - underage, soliciting, running a brothel and paying for sex "in a promiscuous manner" are aspects of prostitution which are illegal in Thailand.  Paying a barfine and taking your 'service provider' to a hotel or your home is fine.

Some School girls are having sex.

In Australia anyway, I'm sure it happens in Thailand.

Is this news to you?

School girls at the age of 14 in thailand are having sex.  If they aren't nice to the boyfriend he will ddrop themand go to a diferene girl.  Peer pressure is huge.

Maybe she comes from a poor family, has a baby to feed and the child's father has abandoned, absconded, left her without support.

The government does not provide welfare, social security payments and does not garnish the babies fathers wages to provide essentials.

This is very common in Thailand. The mother has to support the kids. And if the mother has to work in the big cities, usually the grandparents take care of the kids as  the mother send them money.  Most of those girls are lucky if they can find someone to have a child. Their best chance to have a child is when they are young. So they get pregnant and usually they do not know who the father is or they father runs away. This  happens in America too and in any other country.

Lot's of schoolgirls, many of them younger as 16 year, working a weekend freelance in Pattaya to earn extra pocket money.
But let's aplaud the Pattaya police for their actions in this particulat case ...
Thailand is rotten as rotten can be.

What rubbish, try not generalizing a whole country based on a few locations, every country has areas where this type of entertainment is offered.

Don't expect too much from translation or Chat GPT.

In Australia and other western countries if the father runs away from the mother and baby the government will take a large percentage of your wage and give it to the mother along with social security benefits.
