A serving Gloucestershire police officer has been arrested in Gloucester on suspicion of a terrorism-related offence, reportedly due to suspected online support for the proscribed organization Hamas. The constable, a man in his 30s, was detained by counter-terrorism officers on Tuesday under the Terrorism Act, specifically on suspicion of offering support to the designated terrorist organization. Gloucestershire Constabulary has confirmed that the alleged support centers on the officer’s online activities.

Hamas, an Islamist militant group based in Gaza, is designated as a terrorist organization in the UK, the European Union, the United States, and numerous other countries. This designation makes it illegal to show support for or be affiliated with the group within the UK. The organization has been involved in an ongoing conflict with Israel, which intensified significantly following a major attack on October 7 of last year.

Following the arrest, specialist officers launched searches as part of the ongoing investigation, focusing on securing digital evidence, including seizing devices and conducting searches of a vehicle and an associated residence. Assistant Chief Constable Arman Mathieson of Gloucestershire Constabulary addressed community concerns over the arrest, acknowledging the gravity of the allegations. He emphasized, however, that the investigation remains in its early stages and that the public should avoid premature conclusions.

Mathieson explained that the primary aim of the searches is to gather relevant digital devices for analysis, underscoring that the arrest facilitates a “prompt and effective” inquiry into the matter. The Gloucestershire police remain focused on conducting a thorough investigation while reassuring the public that any potential misconduct will be rigorously addressed.

This should come as no surprise as multiple police officers have been seen showing favourtism. The issue has long been a source of complaints to various police supervisory units. There are many more constables hired under the "diversity" initiative that  require attention.

Under the terms of correctness a quantity of terrorist influencer's must be employed to avoid any hint of racism.

And if your a border force police officer at Manchester airport your nose can be broken and officers attacked with no charges arising and you will become the racist for being there 🤔

Do you really need to wonder?

Do you not understand the law?

They release the name of other people arrested for such offenses. Especially if they are on the "wrong" side.

Must be serious as there are thousands of Hamas supporters marching on the streets of London every week and even more venting their vile opinions on social media.  Merely supporting Hamas and calling for genocide of Israel doesn't get people arrested typically.

Only after charges have been laid.

The Home Office doesn't even wait for charges and a conviction before labelling them criminals if they are on the "wrong" side.

Hardly surprising when the police themselves are joining in the Pro Palestine chants and threatening to arrest Jews for being "openly Jewish".

Politically neutral? Not in the UK...

2 Tier Britain.

No name, no pic. Likely another welsh choirboy

I wonder if they'll release a picture of him. If they do, no doubt it will be of him blowing out the candles on his 10th birthday, or maybe his first day at school.

This doesn’t seem to fit the 2 tier justice narrative.

Let us know when he is charged, found guilty and sentenced to 3 years in jail within the week.

Then, you might have a point...

Why do I see something like this so often in reports. They fail to mention that the major attack on October 7 of last year was by Hamas on Israel!

What you fail to see is that Israel constantly provokes these attacks! It's exactly what they want, so they wont have to give up any of the land! You gotta look at the big picture sh.t and not just at one event.

Also, pretty much everyone and their dog knows that it was Hamas who kicked it off in October!

I wonder why they haven't released his name?

I don't think we will be too far off the mark if it has a good few 'M's' in it, possibly a few 'Q's' and 'Z's' and is worth at least 100 points if you are playing Scrabble.....

But supporting Israel and being on the streets of London is a surefire way of ending up in a pair of handcuffs.....
