Yes, that has always been a bit of mystery to me. The Thai military overthrew the Absolute Monarchy and brought in the Consitutional Monarchy. Yet, today, they are held up as the key backers and saviours of the monarchy in modern Thai society?

These businesses generate income for the Thai economy they also pay taxes which in truth most Thais avoid paying

That will never happen.True that they just want our money.I will never ever invest anything in Thailand.

I dont want or need that.My money stays in my bank for myself and spend when i want something.But not any kind of properties in Thailand.

I know a Chinese woman who has a Thai nominee father for one of her kids, so she can get an extension. Chinese husband and real father is on a retirement  extension that you are not permitted to work on. He goes out to work everyday, and of course they managed to buy a house.

Thai nominees are the law, put in place to keep the cash flowing in and the Thais in control.

Seems the cash is being filtered elsewhere. Changes ahead.

I do both. So, besides spending when I want something, I've enjoyed living in my condo at the beach in Pattaya for over 2 decades. Best investment I ever made. I think I've got another 10 years at least.

Not a truer statement ever said.  Why can we not own 1 or 2 ria?  We are not hurting the majority of Thais that cannot afford to buy it!
