Police Raid Illegal Nightclub in Sam Phran, Arrest Owner for Allowing Underage Patrons

Police in Sam Phran, Nakhon Pathom, raided an illegal nightclub that had been operating without a licence, allowing underage customers to gather and illegally selling nitrous oxide, laughing gas. More than 60 underage patrons were found inside the venue at the time of the raid. The operation was led by Pol. Maj. Gen. Songklod Krikkritaya, commander of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division (ATPD), who ordered Pol. Col. Alongkot Khachakaew and Pol. Capt. Phansawadee Khloirayap to carry out the raid. Officers from the ATPD’s 5th Division stormed the nightclub, known as ‘Skinship’, located in Moo 1, Bang Toei subdistrict, Sam Phran district. Police arrested Mr. Yutthachai, 28, the club’s owner, on multiple charges, including operating an unauthorised entertainment venue, permitting entry to individuals under the age of 20, exceeding legal operating hours, illegally selling alcohol, and encouraging inappropriate behaviour among minors. Authorities also arrested Ms. Arisa, 24, on charges of illegally manufacturing and selling unregistered medical substances. Seized items included: • Five nitrous oxide-filled balloons • 320 used nitrous oxide canisters • 36 boxes of Soft Whip nitrous oxide (mint flavour) • 16 boxes of Soft Whip nitrous oxide (natural flavour) • Five nitrous oxide dispensers • Bank transfer slips linked to the sales The raid followed multiple complaints from local residents about underage patrons and illegal alcohol sales at the venue. Undercover officers were sent to observe the club’s operations, confirming the reports. In addition to alcohol being served beyond legal hours, nitrous oxide balloons were being sold to customers for recreational inhalation. Once officers gathered sufficient evidence, they moved in on the club, where they found a large group of partygoers drinking and singing. The lights were switched on, and activities were halted as officers checked identification cards, revealing that 66 customers were aged between 16 and 19. Further inspection uncovered a significant quantity of nitrous oxide balloons and related equipment, all of which were confiscated as evidence. Both Mr. Yutthachai and Ms. Arisa confessed to their respective offences. They were taken into custody and handed over to Sam Phran Police Station for further legal proceedings. Police have reiterated their commitment to clamping down on illegal nightlife venues and protecting underage individuals from exposure to drugs and alcohol. -- 2025-03-26 -
