tomster Posted yesterday at 05:07 AM Posted yesterday at 05:07 AM I want to have a go at making Prosciutto Cotto and need a 3kg leg of pork that looks roughly like this: I can't see anything like it at Makro and it's way to hectic in there to start trying to explain what I need. Are there any places to buy such a thing in Pattaya? I can order in advance, not expecting to find that off the shelf, so to speak... Thanks in advance. 1
champers Posted yesterday at 05:18 AM Posted yesterday at 05:18 AM Big C Extra on Pattaya Klang? If possible, maybe take a Thai speaker to help. 1
Old Curmudgeon Posted yesterday at 05:40 AM Posted yesterday at 05:40 AM (edited) I hope these butchers are useful in your quest for Prosciutto Cotto ... In Pattaya, I don't know, but in Bangkok have butchers who will have pork leg that size, and will send to you in Pattaya. I frequently buy from -- and recommend -- the following butchers: - Sloanes - The Accidental Butcher - Paleo Robbie 5+ years of experience with each of those: all good. Picture below is cooked, but all three above may have un-cooked, just must ask. But be prepared, prices at those specialty butchers not the same as Makro. - Old Curmudgeon (in Chiang Mai) Edited yesterday at 05:45 AM by Old Curmudgeon 2
Popular Post Bobthegimp Posted yesterday at 07:51 AM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 07:51 AM Try the Muslim quarter, Pattaya Tai and Second Road area. It won't be Halal, but it should do the job. 3

Pattaya57 Posted yesterday at 08:05 AM Posted yesterday at 08:05 AM I'm confused. All supermarkets I've been in have a 'real butcher' counter?
bbko Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago There's a farang owned food shop that specializes in meats/pork, etc over on the Darkside, maye stop in and speak with the owner. Smokey Mountain Foods; https://www.facebook.com/Smokeymountainfoods?_rdc=1&_rdr# https://smokeymountainfoods.com/about-us/ 1
Thingamabob Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago No idea. I don't, inter-alia, eat cows, pigs, sheep or chickens. Unlike most of humanity I am disgusted by the cruelty they endure before arriving on our plates and into our mouths.
Gandtee Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I'll send you my barber's name. She does a good job of butchering my hair. 😉 1
