Time to cull them, enough is enough.

The resort and shop owners who are complaining were most likely the ones who abandoned the dogs in the first place!

If they cull them Thais are cruel

If they dont cull them, Thais are stupid

Just another way to bash Thailand then, ho hum. I guess a lot of you never grew up carrying a revolver because of bears, here all you have are mangy heat crazed  nasty village dogs. I like a Mountain Hardwear Carbon Fiber walking stick, the titanium tip will rip plywood and dogs dont like the way the tip sounds as it whips pass their nose.

Remember, dogs are cowards. Grow a set.

I have been to Koh Mook back in the late 80s, and back then it had a predominantly muslim population and because of that no or very few dogs were allowed on the island as they are considered "unclean" by Islam!

Nowadays most land has been bought up by buddhist mainland "investors", that has built hotels all over and brought their dogs with them and many has gone rouge and now roam "wild"!

Koh Mook is a small island and the population of dogs is increasing, only answers are get the dogs off the island or cull them!

Seen a few pink elephants but never seen a rouge dog.

Thought it was Koh Mak for a moment when I saw the headline (that one being near Koh Chang).

I got attacked by a pack of dogs there in 2022 when walking up the beach. I got chased into the sea and my feet brushed a sea urchin in the process which is bl**dy painful (tried avoiding it but there are loads of them in the shallow waters there). The pack was wise to pretend rock throwing etc. and came right into the water. Only way to get away was to float on my back further down the beach until they lost interest!

A funny story but it could have been more serious but the locals seemed mainly indifferent to the menace of these things, despite staying in a high end place. There were lots of strays all over the island full stop, presumably the lack of cars helping in that respect. The only saving grace was I didn't get bitten and need rabies shots.

I'm investing in a retractable baton in future.

'Residents are urging authorities to relocate stray dogs off the island'

That's an excellent idea.

Relocate them to a boat, drive them out to sea an relocate them in the ocean.

Job done!

There are no bad dogs, only bad owners.

Problem is that most street dogs in Thailand don´t have any owners! 😏

A typical make it somebody else's problem response rather than tackle the problem at source and cull the packs of wild dogs.

Yep! Dump them in someone else's back yard, that will fix the problem.

Typical useless self-centred non-thinking solution.

I think that oversimplifies things. Just like people, dogs can have personalities, genetics, or past experiences that make their behavior unpredictable, even with great training
