An 18-wheel trailer truck overturned on a curve on the parallel road of Motorway 7, near Wat Manarom, heading towards Chak Yai Chin Intersection in Laem Chabang, Sriracha District, Chonburi Province. Rescue teams worked for an hour to free the trapped driver, who sustained severe injuries.

 

Police Lieutenant Boonthip Jinda, an investigator from Laem Chabang Police Station, received the accident report and coordinated with the Sawang Prateep Sriracha Rescue Team to respond to the scene.

 

Upon arrival, the team found a white 18-wheel truck, license plate from Ayutthaya, lying on its side. The vehicle’s front section was heavily damaged, trapping the driver, identified as Mr. Sawinai Sirirat, 53, a resident of Chaiyaphum Province. Rescue workers used hydraulic tools to extract the injured driver, completing the operation after one hour. Mr. Sawinai was rushed to Somdej Boromarachathavi Hospital in Sriracha for further treatment.

 

According to Mr. Chatri, a coworker traveling behind the truck, he and the injured driver were transporting cargo containers to Koh Kong, Trat Province. At the time of the accident, Mr. Sawinai appeared to swerve to avoid an obstacle on the road, causing the truck to overturn. The area is poorly lit and features a sharp curve, which may have contributed to the crash.

 

Police officers from Laem Chabang Station documented the scene, conducted an initial investigation, and recorded witness statements. The investigation will continue to determine the cause of the accident and proceed with legal measures.
