I think people joke about it because they don't understand the impact it puts on our privacy and freedoms. In China it is almost always cashless now. They always pay with Wechat. If the world gets to

Everyone who signs up for this is deaf, dumb and blind to what is going on. The perfect example was what Trudeau did to the truck drivers in Canada. When they took industrial action he simply turned off their money supply, not just their wages but everything with bank accounts frozen and ATMs and credit/charge cards suspended.

It is all about control not stopping crime.

Or those who have plenty and through decentralisation can hide it.

Don't forget those who worked hard for it, and feel it's a rip off giving it to a government who p*sses it up against the wall, and also gives it to people who have never worked a day in their life.

The more the tax noose gets tightened, in every country, the more people will seek out the benefits of crypto.

Governments are already looking at their country having it's own crypto, and that's how you will be paid, and how you will spend, for EVERYTHING, and they will know it all.
