An incident unfolded in Sattahip, Chonburi, when a 14-year- old boy of Thai-Australian descent was fatally stabbed in the back, collapsing and dying in front of a local store. The boy's devastated mother revealed that her son had mentioned being involved in a conflict with a senior student prior to his death.

The fatal stabbing occurred around 20:30 on December 10, Police Sub-Lieutenant Santichon Humart, investigator at Sattahip Police Station, was notified of the incident outside a store in the Montra Garden Home housing estate, Moo 10, Bang Saray Sub-district.

Authorities, including Police Colonel Thanapol Klinkasorn, Deputy Superintendent Lieutenant Colonel Suwijak Rueangnuamdee, and the investigative team, rushed to the scene with rescue workers from the Sawang Rojanathamsathan Foundation.

At the scene, the victim's body was found lying on the store's steps in a pool of blood. He was wearing a black T-shirt and elephant-patterned shorts. A sharp knife was embedded in his back, nearly piercing through to his chest. The knife's broken black handle was discovered nearby. The boy's mother and older sister stood at the scene, overwhelmed with grief.

The victim's mother recounted that her son had been playing games on his phone with friends earlier in the evening. He mentioned having a disagreement with a senior student from his private school, where he was in Mathayom 1 and the other boy was in Mathayom 2. She was unaware when her son left their home for the store. Shortly after, she was informed of his death.

A security guard at the entrance to the village stated that the boy had left the estate alone around 20.00. Approximately 20 minutes later, the boy was seen at the store, clutching his back and seeking help. He collapsed on the steps of the store and succumbed to his injuries before he could speak. Despite immediate efforts to call for rescue assistance, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have identified a possible suspect-a senior student mentioned by the victim-family and believe the incident may have stemmed from their earlier dispute. Efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect are ongoing, with authorities expressing confidence in making an arrest soon.

The victim's body has been sent for autopsy, and police continue to gather evidence. Officials have pledged to bring the perpetrator to justice, ensuring closure for the grieving family.

Authorities in Sattahip, Chonburi, have apprehended a student from a prestigious private school who fatally stabbed a peer. The incident, which stemmed from an argument over a perceived challenge, has left the community in shock.

Sattahip Police Station, led by Pol. Col. Thanapon Klinkasorn, in collaboration with investigating officers, located the suspect at a residence in Moo 10, Bang Saray, just 400 metres from the crime scene.

The suspect, a 14-year-old boy was brought in for questioning. Authorities coordinated with the boy's parents and a multidisciplinary team to ensure the interrogation adhered to legal protocols, as the suspect is a minor.

According to preliminary investigations, the conflict originated at school, where the suspect reportedly accused the victim of staring at him in a confrontational manner. This escalated into a verbal challenge, culminating in a private meeting arranged via chat messages.

On the night of the incident, the suspect rode his motorcycle to meet the victim. The two began arguing and got into a physical altercation before separating. As the victim was walking back home, the suspect allegedly ran after him and stabbed him in the back. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect reportedly claimed that he did not intend for the encounter to result in death. Police are continuing to investigate and have assured that legal procedures will be followed carefully due to the suspect's juvenile status.

"the conflict originated at school, where the suspect reportedly accused the victim of staring at him in a confrontational manner"

WTF, I find this so hard to understand. Were we as kids in the 60s, 70s, 80s wiser, more sensible?

In the 50s our weapon of choice was a folded up cap with the school crest on it.

(This eventually became the crux of the TV series 'Peaky  Blinders').

I agree and the answer is a definite yes.

We tended to be brought up properly by our parents/teachers/guardians.

We were disciplined when naughty, ignored when good.

We were taught morals and standards.

I was at school late 50's early 60's. Never heard of a weapon of any kind being used or shown. I actually had a German officers ceremonial dagger but I never took it to school. It was a memento that my father took when serving.

Mum 'confiscated' it when she saw me practising throwing it.

The most we got at school was a fat lip..

Thailand needs to reverse this stabbing/shooting culture

This is Thai media coverage of the incident, which shows CCTV from the time of the incident and censored images from the crime scene.

"where the suspect reportedly accused the victim of staring at him in a confrontational manner."

And again, the culture here of forcing kids to WAI at adults, showing that kids are inferior beings.

Creates a culture where men are still kids in their mind, and waiting for any opportunity to show the world that they are adults, and that they will no longer tolerate staring and confrontation, as if they were still kids.

The suspect brought the knife to the meeting... premeditated.

Those images were not censored on the messages my daughter read this morning, sent by her classmates, around 6.00am.

The victim was in her class at school.

For what I know about Aussies, they fight fair. No weapons, man to man and then it's done.

The other boy is just a stinking coward.

I've witnessed local young rivals meet up to have their beef. whilst the others stand around to ensure no one else intervenes. Previous time it was a couple of girls. They did their thing and then everyone rode off as if nothing happened. Done and dusted.

Stabbing someone, let alone in the back, is just the lowest of low.

Not in New Zealand at that time, sadly like the rest of the world knife crime is on the increase.
