Good to see a happy story for a change. I wish him health and a speedy recovery. Not everyone is fortunate when it comes to go fund me. I started one for a Thai lady whose leg was shattered in a motorbike accident and I got all of $60 US. I sent her $500 US. I guess it matters how many western friends you have and if your big on Tiktok and/or youtube.

The difference is she can get free hospital treatment and does not need a repatriation flight.

No details of why his travel insurance did not cover the costs, but good luck to him anyway.

It seems from the article that he had been living here a while, so travel insurance probably wouldn't be appropriate.  A good reason for people living here to have good accident/health insurance though.

Are you sure about that? This would be a truly terrible thing to say if it was not true...

Why I used "Probably" But also since there is no information on the crash, Not even time of day or if anyone else was involved it leaves it open to interpretation and conjecture.

Why no details about the crash?

Probably because it is like the poster below assumes.

Yeah, sounds like logic, and after thta get rewarded with other peoples money for an unnecessary flight home.

Why it was necessary to fly back to UK?

Docs often or most are better than in NHS.

Oh, the little boy wanted to go home for Christmas, so mummy started a GoFundMe for him.

Absolute rubbish. My lung specialist advised me to go back to the uk for treatment because, in his words, they are around 3 years ahead there with a lot more treatment options, in fact this specific doctor was about to go to the uk to receive training in his field to bring back to Thailand. If you clearly have no knowledge I a particular topic, it's probably best to remain quiet. (However, waiting time is a completely different issue. Lol )

What a gibberish. When was your case???? 1945 or earlier?😂. Go on boozing, girlie🥱

I was also wondering the same question. Bumrungrad Hospital has some of the best doctors and the facility is excellent. Returning to the UK for what? Socialized medical care and year long waits. Not only that, the nurses in the UK are fat and ugly.

Quite possibly but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t help him.

Everyone makes mistakes, he has lost a leg.

Was anyone else injured or killed in the accident?
