1. the border will be closed 

2. people will be deported

3. Ukraine and Russia will sit down at a table and talk

4. He is going to drill baby drill, thereby making you less dependent on other countries

5. He will be a leader who will deal with other countries and not get confused about who he is talking or where he is.

- Either Trump will fully apply his policies and he will blame others for the high inflation and increased debt (among others),

Now here's the rub: foreign entities---govts and private corps/individuals---finance around 25% of the yearly deficit. In his earlier iteration as the supposed President, 45 said he would consider defaulting on debt owned by non-US entities. That's not good. That doesn't build confidence. If foreigners went on strike and stopped buying US paper, rates would soar, and nothing the Fed could do that would not result in wild inflation.

 

Exactly. National debt is a completely different animal to household debt.

Just an aside on the issue of national debt.  While I am a proponent of (and have been for 20 years) our government controlling it's spending and while $32T seems massive - it can be a soft landing.  USA us at 115% GDP/Debt ratio which is unsustainable but the right spending cuts and economic spurs can reduce this.  I have no clue what that might be other than stop wasting money and take the gloves off big business like fossil fuels and land development.  Of course that will enrage the "stop oil" faction.
