My GF opened up an umbrella indoors, on Friday 13th. This would be doubly unlucky today for us Brits.

Apart from ghosts and re-borns, do Thai have silly superstitions like this.

Was she standing on a ladder when she didi it? Did a black cat walk under the ladder at the same time?

 

You better go buy a few lottery tickets.

Surely a double-negative makes a positive ?....    go out and get a lottery ticket !

In Thai culture, there is a long-standing superstition that opening a hair salon or cutting hair on a Wednesday is considered inauspicious.

 

I smashed a mirror this morning in my bathroom then walked under a ladder.

...she's coming round at 7 for a bit of the old 'in-out, in-out'...

something to do with hearing a tookay or jing jok call so many times is bad luck.

Ex said we couldn’t buy this  motorbike on a Monday because it was black, so got it on Tuesday and it fell over! 🙄

I asked a young barber who opened a shop near us why it was bad luck

 

"Only bad luck for you, because I won't be open"

 

Can't argue with that circular logic.
