Yes, it was pointed out on here by me and others that the jury verdict sheet said 'NO' as to whether Trump was culpable for first degree rape and the jury only said 'YES' to assault.

You did catch the irony that $2 million was for the assault and the other $80+ million was for the mean words, right?  Meaning that the judge and jury decided that the mean words were 40x as bad as being assaulted.

My explanation of what Judge Kaplan said: If a woman says to you out of the blue, 'I was raped', that in and of itself does not imply penal insertion but 'rape' as in violated can reference other types of sexual assault.

 

However Ms, Carroll herself, post-trial, that there was penal insertion just that it was her fault she was not able to convince that that was the  nature of the 'rape'.

Trump only gets 1M from this ABC case to cover his legal expenses.  The 15M goes to the Trump presidential library.   The net benefit for Trump in this settlement should be close to ZERO.  He may leave behind a nicer building to showcase his horrible presidencies.

She may have been more convincing if she remembered what year it happened, provided any corroborating witnesses, reported it to the store or the popo, sued the store, been younger than 50+ years old when it allegedly happened, and not out selling books (and during an election cycle, no less).

The fact that she claimed she didn't wash the dress but kept it for decades, and Trump's DNA was rejected by the judge tells me everything.
