Thaksin Announces New Anti-Drug Task Force Led by PM Paetongtarn
In small amounts it's fine. If you do it in day out, it can have effects. I've seen numerous tourists who are caning it DAY IN DAY OUT, then when they stop they turn into nutters, the withdrawel symptoms can produce some nasty effects. -

Pattaya Intensifies Anti-Drugs Crackdown in Night Clubs
Which venues? (so we can avoid) I don't do drugs so don't have to worry about that, but getting caught up in a raid will ruin the night. Pretty stupid of them to do it during high season as tourists affected may not return next time. The drugs they should worry about are not some party favors at a club - it's meth and ice and other hardcore stuff that's used regularly by so many Thais. -

E bike battery
Or the practice of defending the use of EV's at all costs - eh? When every aspect is taken account of, its not at all certain that any EV's will achieve what they are supposed to. In this case for example, we are talking about an electric bicycle - something that was previously human powered and therefore very sustainable. Depending on your point of view, there is also the issue of all types of bicycle being a bloody dangerous nuisance - some of us find them totally incompatible on roads where cars etc. are travelling at 100kmh +. Now bicycles have batteries so that's at the very least, an additional use of resources. Then we have the issues of additional power requirements to charge those batteries and the recycling of those batteries at the end of their life. People say they will be recycled and can be put to other uses. Will that actually happen? In the UK we are finding that some items on which we spend time separating out for collection and 'recycling' are not in fact, actually being recycled. There's talk, and then there's reality. Its a bit like Google and Meta trying to convince us that they are working hard at creating a more sustainable world whilst behind the scenes their 'Cloud's, Data Centres and AI facilities are consuming vast amounts of electricity and I mean VAST. In some countries they have created 'dry villages' where people's water supplies have dried up through them being diverted to cool those facilities. Do we actually need those data centres or are they simply the result of companies like Google and Meta driving their already huge profits forward? I've read a few of your posts in other threads on EV's so I'm very aware that you're unlikely to consider any critical thinking on the matter. I on the other hand, am just someone who wants to see something actually done to combat climate change - not just gimmicks that in reality, simply add to the problem and provide sales opportunities for big business. An important component of tackling climate change is the reduction of consumption. Do EV's and in particular, electric bikes add to our consumption or reduce it? I think I've explained my position and we're way off on a tangent so I'll leave it at that but maybe you could explain exactly where I've been 'hypocritical'? -
