No.  People aren’t restricted to the hospital where they are registered if their hospital does not offer what is needed.  Referrals can be made.  You should educate yourself on how the healthcare here works.

I'm thankful that the Cult of the Wormheads has come here to solve this mystery. I have no doubt that the next volcanic eruption or solar eclipse will also be attributable to "The Jab". I'm a little surprised how many expat PhD biochemists have settled in Thailand and joined AN. We're just lucky, I guess.

 

I'm one of those Luddites who do not believe that correlation equals causation, nor do I believe everything on the internet is Gospel truth. That's just the natural skeptic in me. I see that data and consider things like:

 

---Awareness among the area population that that particular hospital has developed a comprehensive cancer treatment program and broadcast it, so folks turn toward it for treatment ?

 

---The prevalence of the area consumption of Koi Pla, which has been linked to liver cancer ?

 

---Rising levels of pollution countrywide, but cancer patients not congregating at one specific hospital in other areas ?

 

---Some particular cancer causing substance in some factory or farms in that area ?

 

---Better reporting and data keeping re cancer numbers ?

 

---Better detection methods ?

 

---Tattoos ?

 

---An alien bio weapon being tested first in Khon Kaen ? /sarc

 

The skeptic in me also questions the credibility of a proponent of odd conspiracies who takes exception to FDA-approved vaccines, but is perfectly comfortable injecting himself with heroin sourced from rural Myanmar or Afghanistan.

The increase is from people coming from other areas of Thailand for treatment.  Before they had no choice but to get care at the designated hospital, now they can go where they want, which people will go to the place with the best reputation.

There is no such thing as turbo cancer, there are some aggressive cancers (lung, Prostate).

As I understood they normally have to to visit their "assigned"/"registered" hospital first and only if needed they will be transferred to a higher up hospital.

All that does not apply to the wealthy class that will visit private hospitals.

It is this. Chulalongkorn and other tertiary Bangkok hospitals are having the same problem due to people choosing to go there because they now can.

I was referring to the linked article in this Topic.

This article does not inform the reader concerning the number of patients...but only gives the percentage increase.

One can only see if one opens one's eyes before stating that there is nothing to see without first having had a careful look.

You are correct that it would be highly unlikely that, in any given group, under natural conditions, that cancer rates would rise by 8-fold.

 

Still, some here have no concept of probability, and have never studied either statistics or probability.

 

These are the same who play the lottery.

 

It is possible to increase the cancer rates in a test group by 8-fold, but one must introduce some wild card, such as a thermonuclear bomb.

 

The article is extremely misleading, and seemingly is intent on causing FUD.
