Vietnamese Thieves Arrested in Thai Love Hotel After Crime Spree
File photo for reference only In a significant breakthrough, Thai police arrested two Vietnamese nationals involved in a recent series of thefts across Nonthaburi province, near Bangkok. The arrest occurred yesterday, December 18, at a love hotel in the Bang Rak Noi district, following an escalated crime spree that baffled the local community. The two suspects, 34-year-old Nguyen Huu Luc and 36-year-old Do Van Hiep, were apprehended with more than 500 pieces of stolen property, including valuable items from homes and a car showroom. The investigation began after multiple theft reports across several areas, prompting Chaiyaphruek Police to launch a thorough investigation. Surveillance footage proved critical in identifying the suspects, revealing their activities and movements in the Bang Si Mueang area. Upon search, officers found an array of stolen goods in the suspects' hotel room, including electronics and cash. Although Nguyen denied any involvement, claiming the crimes were solely the actions of his companion, Do, both admitted resorting to theft due to financial desperation following their legal entry into Thailand on tourist visas. These arrests bring an end to a daring theft operation, with both men now facing serious legal consequences. The charges of conspiring to commit theft carry the potential for five years in prison, reflecting the severity of their actions. This case highlights the importance of rigorous policing and community vigilance in tackling such crimes effectively. -- 2024-12-19 -

British man arrested for 'human trafficking' raid at bar in Thai resort as dozens of women are loaded into police truck
Its an old thread but relevant. Bryan Flower's case started yesterday and was adjourned to January 20th (2025) The original Flirt bar case was misreported, And no mention was ever made in the Pattaya media of the arrest of Mrs Flowers ""This case could be controversial. Flowers is one of the biggest operators of bar-brothels in the Thai resort and now possibly Thailand. He is also a media mogul with a national news site in English and Thai and other provincial news sites in Thailand. (But his most successful is his flagship site the Pattaya News, which is often trawled by foreign tabloids.) And Flowers has been in the middle of mafia wars in the Thai sex resort where foreign bar owners have been competing over ownership of young Thai women to feed to tourists. Further Flower’s Thai wife Punnipa Flowers is accused of the very things he is contesting. Together with two others, an English bar manager named William Reece and Jaranya Deeppair, a cashier, Punnipa Flowers is accused at Pattaya Provincial court of eight offences which include, human trafficking, child abduction and child prostitution. This relates to a raid last year on the Flowers controlled Flirt Bar in Pattaya’s Soi 6 – a lane regarded as the cheapest and sleaziest end of the sex industry in Pattaya. Thailand’s Trafficking in Persons Unit said the charges related to a 16-year-old girl who was found to have been employed at the bar. Flowers has twenty-seven bars offering sex workers with rooms provided where the acts can take place. It would still have been illegal, even if the girl had been an adult, but local and Thai government officials turn a blind eye as the sex trade bring in billions." From Andrew Drummond's site -

Starmer Defends Decision to Deny Compensation for Waspi Women Amid Backlash
So now you are saying they just went along on a fact finding mission? Rubbish and you know it. You really are scrabbling to defend these liars. They clearly went there and had their photo taken with the campaigners to show that they allied themselves with them. They were trying to drum up support for themselves, certainly what Rayner said indicates that they were SUPPORTING not fact finding. -

Don't worry about it. It's all waffle - just like Starmer - no specifics or answers to real problems. -

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
With no specific knowledge, and not seeing under the carpet, I suspect they use longer screws to facilitate assembly, and there's nothing (generally) to worry about. If someone's bothered by a few mm protruding, that's why God invented acorn nuts. Not the squirrel food kind. This kind... They'll also keep from snagging your sock in the rare case that's a problem. -

Pattaya Newbie - Help Me! - Need a good hotel close to the beach
Hi guys, never been to Pattya, but I am heading there in a few days to stay for 3 days. My idea was to get a good hotel close to the beach. Does anyone have good hotel tips or general advice? Don't need to be close to night life, already have a girl coming with me. So good standard hotel, bathtub would be ideal. Much appreciated!
