Has anyone tried the new Chang beer yet?

Unpasteurised and comes in a 500ml aluminium screw top bottle.

4.8% . Only available in 7/11 at a cost of 89 Baht.

I picked up one this morning and will open it tonight.

They are calling it premium beer.

We shall see.

Yeh

It's just as bad as the green bottled stuff!

Chang used to be great when it was in brown bottles, many moons ago.

Yes Tapper was good but now I start getting a hangover while drinking it.

Now Dunkel 4.9% + vodka shot

So no New Chang because it is 'only' 4.8, yet you drink Dunkel at 4.9. Can you really tell the difference?

And you only get the hangover 'after' drinking alcohol. usually the next morning.

I drink Dunkel + vodka shot = 7% = Perfect.

Something going on with Tapper causing a hangover while drinking.....

Try Nite Hunter IPA. 6.8%

Third shelf - 3rd from the right.

Very tasty but STRONG.

Had some a few weeks back.  If it's worth paying extra for I doubt but after a 3 hour minibus ride with way too many singing women women aboard it was about as good as it gets.  And I like the bottle.

Yes that's what i do with Dunkel, dark beer, better than bog standard beer

I never mix beer with anything, except the longer I have lived in Thailand, I have added ice cubes, and if the house wine tasted bad, I started to add ice cubes there to, to brake the taste of it. Be it white or red.

It makes a difference and makes up.for bad quality, or an bottle surged air to long after opening

The Snowy and Beerlao IPA's are decent enough. I haven't tried the Manakhon or Nite Hunter yet.

UNPASTEURIZED, I'm concerned for my health.

It's not quite like pasteurized milk and may actually be more flavousome and beneficial. Before Louis Pasteur all beers were unpasteurized and many Belgian ales still are.

As long as the beer is stored well and drunk near the production date it should be fine.

The problem is, if it's just a marketing ploy and just tastes like normal Chang it will hardly be worth it.

Does it have a manufacture date? That's the important thing.

If beer Lao Dark is now 5% then it's worthless getting, they are determined to kill the beers here
