Pictures and video from CCTV.

A dramatic incident unfolded on December 21, at a cockfighting arena in Nakhon Pathom, where a group of five armed men fired shots into the air, causing panic among spectators. The incident occurred at Por Bang Len Cockfighting Arena in Bang Len Subdistrict, Bang Len District, after a high-stakes match involving a bet of 500,000 baht.

Witnesses reported that the men, believed to be from a prominent cockfighting camp in Ratchaburi, became agitated when their rooster lost the fight. After the match, the group began walking toward the arena’s exit, prompting the arena manager to approach and instruct them to return to the venue.

An argument ensued, escalating into a physical confrontation. The group then drew firearms and fired multiple shots into the air, sending spectators scrambling for cover. Witnesses described scenes of chaos as people fled in fear, though no one inside the arena was directly targeted.

One spectator recounted the terrifying moments, stating, “After their rooster lost, they seemed upset but initially left calmly. It wasn’t until the arena manager intervened that things spiraled out of control. When the shots were fired, everyone ran for their lives.”

Spent shell casings were found scattered near the scene, evidence of the group’s attempt to “clear a path” as they left the arena. The men reportedly departed in a vehicle shortly after the incident.

Initial investigations revealed that the group is affiliated with a well-known cockfighting camp in Ratchaburi. Authorities have confirmed they have identified the suspects and are pursuing further action.

The incident has sparked concerns about safety and security at cockfighting arenas, particularly during high-stakes matches where emotions can run high.

Local authorities have pledged to increase monitoring and enforce stricter regulations to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

I think it's allowed on site, at official venues like horse racing, boxing and cock fighting.

You must be new here.

Hundreds of these places all over the country.

Dont get out much?

Crazy how much money is involved in cockfighting here. Wifeys uncle had his flock culled during the bird flu epidemic several years ago. He was very upset as his best ones used to sell for around 150,000 bht each.

Men children, fighting with their little cocks...

These punks think they are 90s rappers.

They are nothing of the sort, I can assure you of that.

Throw the book at em!

If you have lived here for any amount of time and have never seen gambling at the Muay Thai, the cock fighting, the bull fighting or the horse races I assume your eyes are painted on?

Yes, of course I have seen. I was just pointing out the moral aspects of it all.

A cruel and evil activity that reflects a culture's ignorance and savagery.

The people who attend these events are often the same people who engage in criminality and who think nothing of cheating farangs. The have little compassion or appreciation of the concept of right and wrong.
