Speculate. What is in Greenland that makes Trump say it is vital to US security?

What baffles me more than anything else is that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans managed to come up with better presidential candidates.

Your post is applicable to most countries in today’s world. Why do you want to cut your life expectancy by 25% unless you are at the helm of a country whose decisions have no meaning on the world stage. Who thought Swedish PM Olof Palme could be assassinated in 1986 while walking with his wife downtown Stockholm or Shinzo Abe during a political event in Nara prefecture?

I am not speaking about the 4 US presidents assassinated or the attempts on 4 other presidents (which failed obviously).

True that. The days of noble, well educated, sophisticated, smart, truly capable folks running for that office are over. End of story. It is just too toxic, and only morally bankrupt, 14 foot crocodiles like Trump, Rubio, De Santis, and Harris are interested.

Absolutely nothing.

He just talks about this kind of stuff to distract people from his incompetence and his complete lack of a plan on how he will fix Americas problems.

Ok. Lots of countries have those. The question Is WHY GL? Is it just that he thinks Greenland is the lowest hanging fruit? Does he really think juvenile school-yard bullying is going to work on the world stage? It didn't even work for him in NY real estate 🤔🤷

Due to Biden failed policies the past 4 years and his weakness, the us is being surrounded by our enemies, the Iranians are allowed to get the Nukes and fires have been lit everywhere.  Trump is trying to get places where we can project power when needed and quickly.  But we will have to get rid of DEI and Wokeness in the Military.  We can send the illegals to Greenland.  They have the space.

It is normal for any country to want to expand and gain more territory.

Denmark and Canada can always turn to Russia for help. Our leader, Vladimir, will gladly give Canada and Greenland many dangerous toys in case of war with the USA.

Trump will not  be able to do anything. It takes time and  at most he has is 2 years. He will lose control of the House and the Senate in 2 years and will then  be impeached. It is coming.

Trump is queer bird.

He threatens America's closest allies but sucks up to our enemies.

Americans really wanted this MADNESS?

People should really stop trying to SANE WASH this man.

Nobody is Sane Washing anything though. Merely pointing out that if you try to interpret all of this nonsense in isolation and as organic in nature, rather than part of a larger, deliberate operation to achieve something, you are never going to understand what is happening.  There is too much evidence these events are all part of a very long running psyop that's been going on at least the past 8 years, and has possibly even been in planning since JFK was assassinated.  Don't allow yourself to be biased by emotion.  I don't like being manipulated either, but that is what's happening, and it's all leading us somewhere. It's just the end goal that remains elusive.

After watching how all this has developed, I personally am inclined to believe Scott Adams (of Dilbert fame) got closest to the mark of what is happening.  Trump is simply breaking the fake news.

So trump is purposely creating fake news to prevent the left from creating fake news?  Sadly, that is closer to the truth than believing he actually wants Greenland.

No they don't. Few countries have such a large mineral resource endowment, and those countries have exploited most of their mineral resources, certainly the easily extracted ones. Greenland, together with Antarctica, represent virgin unexplored land. Remember, the recognised deposits listed are just the ones around the edges, 80% of Greenland is still covered by an ice sheet.

He won't be alive of course when the exploitation of those resources is coining in the cash, but the mining drilling and exploitative industries will be ready with immediate short term support (used to be called bribes in more innocent times) if he pulls off the acquisition of Greenland (and Canada) in the next couple of years.

They’re paranoid about Vlad just walking in and taking over ,difficult to remove the weasel

Can you tell me, what are the differences between:

  • Xi, who wants to annex Taiwan and the entire South China / West Philippines sea ?
  • Putin, who wants Ukraine and all other territory of the Soviet Union ( Belaruss, Moldavia, Baltic states, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan) or even better: of Czaristic Russia ( inclusive Finland and Eastern Poland) back into the Putin Empire
  • Trump, who simply wants to annex Greenland, Canada and Panama canal zone into the USA, inclusive with the use of military or economically force and has ZERO problems in kicking out millions of migrants, already more-or-less settled in the USA  ?
  • Hitler, who wants to annex all till the Ural, and kick out millions of unwanted persons, to start with Jews and Roma+Sinti ?

That question implies that Trump knows what is important for the US security and it implies that he rationally thought about that.

I don't think any of that is how Trump "thinks".

John Bolton warns: I’m ‘very worried’ about how Trump would handle ‘much more likely’ international crisis | The Independent

Bolton, who served as Trump’s national security adviser from 2018 to 2019, told The Guardian the president-elect has an “inability to focus” and bases his decisions on personal relationships and “neuron flashes.”

Bolton is not, IMO, a good person and having been bested by Trump is not the person to trust on anything to do with Trump.

One of Trump's greatest problems first time was employing people he should not have. Sessions was the worst of a bad bunch.

Hopefully he won't be repeating those mistakes this time.

The psyop using gender insanity and MMCC has worked really well, and most politically inclined have been completely deflected from what is really going on, IMO. For the sheeple, sports, celebrity and social media occupy whatever intellect they possess, IMO.

However, if Trump didn't exist, they'd have had to create one themselves. The psyop to demonise him must be their greatest success, given how many people believe it. IMO.

It's just the end goal that remains elusive.

I think we know, but I will not say it on here.

Selected to not interfere. The problem with people like Bolton and Kelly was that they kept trying to tell him what to do. Sessions was just a back stabbing incompetent. IMO.

Yah that first term worked out great.  He sure solved all of America's problems.  I have fond memories of the lockdowns, overflowing hospitals, protests, and endless culture wars.

Try not including deflections about covid and then comment.

So mentioning any problem he was too incompetent to handle during his first term is deflection?  Bizzare logic you have.

No government on the planet handled covid properly. To single out Trump is a nonsense. The government in NZ where I was during it was completely incompetent, IMO.

Seems that other than covid you have nothing to complain about prior to that man made catastrophe.

I was in Thailand the first year of covid.   We had a short lockdown, but then life went back to pretty much normal.  It was actually one of the best years of my life.  Thailand without any other tourists, what could be better?

Meanwhile, my relatives and friends in the US complained to me constantly about how restaurants, schools, government offices were closed.  Events were cancelled.  They couldn't even buy basic essentials in supermarkets.  It was simply an inexcusable epic disaster in the US.
