I have adopted a few soi dogs. Currently just giving them a large bowl each of dry food. Is this enough?

I had a dog last year and gave him half a tin of dog food and dry food. But I noticed he was putting on a lot of weight from the tin food.

Is a bowl of dry food enough per day?

thanks.

I feed my dogs once a day, a combo of rice / dry food and any leftovers that are suitable. Thai street dogs will eat anything and be very loyal without much training, make sure you get their shots done.

It says on the package how many grams calories pr 100g. If you google your dogs weight, you find out how many kalorier your dog need.

We cook and mix beef and vegetable additional to dry food for our dogs.

How much protein depend about type of your dog 18 to 30g percent of the food. Thai soi dogs or lean, so 18 is ok

Everything that I eat, with a side of dog food.  Includes all the stuff Vets, MSM and all the ignorant people state will kill her.  My last 2 dogs never ate dog food.  One living 18 ish yrs.  The other had an oops with a truck ... truck won 🙄

Had one of my usual porch gatherings, and put a plate down for the dog, and one guest is like ... "Damn, your dog eats better than me"   All the food groups; roast beef, taters, green beans :coffee1:

Always chicken but differently prepared. Sometimes they get a fried chicken carcase which the vender puts through a grinder. This is mixed with dry dog food and rice to bulk it out.  But too much fried food not good so they mostly get chicken carcases ( 21/ kilo ) from Big C which I boil to soften and cook then finely chop with a meat clever. They hang around trying to catch bits that fly off the chopping board.  If I can't be bothered to do that I buy minced chicken carcase and cook it in a large pan with a little salt and water to make a gravy with it. All this is always mixed with rice and dog food. If I see chicken or pork livers on reduction I get these, chop up and mix with the carcase for a different flavor. About once a fortnight I'll throw in a large tin of tuna or sardines for different flavor plus the fatty oils are good for their skin. If I see any pork or frankfurturs on reduction they also get these.

Feed twice a day , morning and evening but never to excess. There are 4 of them , all previously soi dogs. Now its cold in the evenings we throw 4 old towels down on the balcony and put a mosquito coil in the middle. They like to huddle around this for a bite free night.

When it is cold I take them on a 2 mile walk along a shady creek. They love this but in hot season not possible.

all hand fed to him......won't eat out of bowl.

You should take him to one of those no hands restaurants ( if they still exist )  . You both might enjoy it. I heard the desserts are pretty good.

That's what I named her 'Kool'.  That one was a Cardigan Welch Corgi, champion line full bred w/papers.   Got for free, as owner no longer wanted.

My old dog had just died, and a buddy too in the Corgi from a friend, but didn't want it.  Also didn't want it to go to the SPCA, and knew I would take it.   That was the one that lost the fight with the truck ... thanks to ex-GF.  Killed my dog and the relationship.

Present dog is a 'drop off' at the wat, and wasn't welcomed by the wat pack.  Followed me home, and rest is history.

A fuzzy Jack Russel ...

Better snap of the Corgi ...

I don't think so. That stuff is usually cheap crap(4% protein at best) or expensive and crap. Mine get chicken carcass(slow cooked in so the bones are soft) mixed with brown rice.

You can make up a big batch and freeze it in portions. You can mix the cooked chicken and liquid in with cheap dry food if you cannot be bothered to prepare rice.
