Will the new Thai e-Visa benefit farangs who live here?

Featured Replies

Let's see if it actually launches and can remain operating for 72 hours without a crash.

Your title suggests that you live in Thailand.

What have you been using visa wise currently and in the past?

Why would you be obtaining an eVisa.

It's not a new visa.  It's just all countries will join the already long existing e-visa program.  Nothing different except you can no longer make in person applications.

Think OP is confused.

In another of his threads asked about under consideration period.

Seems is on extensions.

No need for an eVisa

No, I don't know what that is. Something to do with the DTV? Been retire here 15 years.

From your OP ....

"I'm wondering if the new e-Visa will benefit me?"

So you are on annual extensions based on retirement.

Same as my situation.

eVisa for Thailand available in nearby countries is of zero use to you.

One group will be those seeking eg Non O marriage or retirement etc.

That ain't you.

No, it wont.

Why would the powers that be create something that would benefit us???

Think about it...

E-visa is not new at all.  It's been around for many years if you applied for a Thai visa in most western countries.  The only thing new is that Thai consulates in countries neighboring Thailand are finally implementing it.

If you are living in Thailand with ongoing extensions, it will have no impact on you since you never apply for a visa.
