Road Collision in Ratchaburi Leaves One Dead and Two Injured
Picture from responders. A fatal road traffic crash in Ratchaburi has claimed the life of one woman and left two others injured. The incident occurred early on the morning of 16 January at around 06:45. The incident occurred when a pickup truck driver lost control, veered off the road and collided with a power pole. The crash took place near Surin Timber Mill, in Moo 14, Khung Phayom Subdistrict, Ban Pong District, Ratchaburi Province. According to the Ruam Jai Charity Foundation (Pong Lai Koh 36), who were quickly alerted to the scene, emergency response teams arrived to find three individuals, an adult male and woman, plus a child, trapped inside the vehicle. Despite their best efforts, the situation turned fatal as the woman was pronounced dead, still trapped inside the vehicle. Rescue teams from the foundation worked using hydraulic cutting tools to carefully extricate the two surviving victims from the wreckage. The injured victims were then rushed to Ban Pong Hospital by the foundation’s ambulance teams, where they are being treated for their injuries. The extent of their injuries are reported to be critical. The deceased has been identified as Ms. Chatthida Ngamsuwan, aged 28, a resident of Moo 5, Wai Niao Subdistrict, Tha Maka District in Kanchanaburi Province. Authorities are working to gather further details regarding the cause of the crash.Police Captain Surachai Boonin, the investigating officer from Ban Pong Police Station, has taken charge of the case. He has assured the public that a full investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the collision. Preliminary reports indicate that the driver lost control of the vehicle, but there is not clear evidence to why. Police are waiting to interview the man, believed to be the driver, when he recovers enough. -- 2025-01-17 -

Starbucks Tightens Policy on Store Access, Reversing 2018 Open-Door Rule
I would think that if one quietly slipped in to use the toilet and then left the shop no one would give a toss. Rules like this for the most part are only enforced when someone is being a nuisance and a bother to the paying customers. I've seen non-customers hogging all the electrical outlets to charge their gadgets. It is a place of business, not a homeless shelter. I don't get what all this carrying on about the quality of their coffee, it is either a joke or some blowhards who are looking for something to say to make them sound cool. Or these are people who think instant coffee is the good stuff. -
