In a heartbreaking development, the five-year-old boy critically injured in a devastating drink-driving incident in Nakhon Ratchasima has succumbed to his injuries, bringing the death toll from the tragedy to two.

The incident occurred on the evening of 23rd December, when Mr Somsak, a former provincial agricultural officer, drove under the influence and ploughed into a crowd outside Ban Don Kwang School in Hua Talay Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima. The crash left 11 people injured, including students, parents, and vendors, and claimed the life of Police Sub-Lieutenant Wimutt Tansupho, a traffic officer with the Muang Nakhon Ratchasima Police Station.

Among the severely injured was five-year-old Asadawut, who had been in intensive care at Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital. Despite doctors’ best efforts, the young boy passed away at approximately 11:30 on 30th December. His death has devastated his family and all those who followed the story.

It is expected that his relatives will arrange to collect his body tomorrow, 31st December, for funeral rites and religious ceremonies.
