Interesting Drama/Documentary:-

Last Breath 2019   (IMDB Rate 7.7)

A deep sea diver is stranded on the seabed with 5 minutes of oxygen and no hope of rescue. With access to amazing archive this is the story of one man's impossible fight for survival.

Not to be confused with The Last Breath 2024 About shark eating scuba divers

Waiting in anticipation next episode of White Lotus and more shots of Lisa "Mook" Manokaban. It was eye-opening experience to see how unhealthy skinny she is. Very endogenous.

Yes, that's the one, according to IMDB its 2019

Strange! on another IMDB page it's listed as 2025 with a lower 6.7 rating

Take your choice :annoyed:

A Separate Peace 1972

"Classic" movie adaptation of a "classic" novel.

I think I probably read the book back then as it was standard school curriculum stuff but maybe missed the movie.

At a New Hampshire boys school world war 2 era. Might want to pair this with Summer of 42 and a Pinot Grigio.

War is hell. But sometimes necessary.

A friend had recommended the series, "A spy among friends" so I thought I'd give it a go and I do like the two main actors, Damian Lewis and Guy Pearce, so I thought it would be a worthwhile watch......

But I watched three episodes and gave up, mainly because it was jumping around all over the place with regards to time, events and people and it was extremely difficult to follow, so I will watch no more of it. Such a shame because it is something that I was/am interested in, so I'll satisfy my curiosity by searching Google for the information I want.

Him too.
"superstar"? seriously? ROFL

I'm ROFL at your ignorance. Lisa is the biggest superstar in ASEAN, particularly in Thailand, which, of course, has no relevance here on an AN post.

She has appeared at the Oscars, MTV Awards, and on U.S. TV.

So yeah, maybe you should keep up—Lisa’s not just a superstar; she’s a global phenomenon—ask my Thai daughter.

Anora was amazing. This was an astonishing film, with performances that were written by adults for adults, which is so refreshing in today's world of American film. They actually showed nudity, they actually showed people having sex, they showed that not everybody in America is prudish, which was so wonderful and it's something that Hollywood just can't wrap its tiny little mind around. You knew this had to be a an independent production, you knew that this wasn't financed by a big studio, because the content was simply too mature, and too adult like.

The interaction between Mikey Madison and Paul Weissman was precious. He played this gentle, kind-hearted thug, stuck working for a junk family, who did a great job of displaying the moral bankruptcy of the average billionaire, much less Russian oligarch.

Mikey Madison was pitch perfect and absolutely deserved the Academy Award. It was a brilliant performance, the entire film had this pitch and intensity that just never let up and it was both tragic and beyond belief for many many sustained moments. Sean Baker likewise deserved his Oscar as the direction was flawless. This was an utterly enjoyable film to watch.

Baker’s subtly brilliant film knows how difficult it is to pull yourself up by your bootstraps, especially when those bootstraps are constantly being cut off by the people at the top.

Yes, it was well deserving of its Oscars.  Great movie.

She's gorgeous in it, but so far, hasn't been featured much.  Aimee Lou Wood and her teeth are great!

Discussing what she cooked him for breakfast, interminable minutes of riding around in a van, buying paint and then a brief altercation with a local hoon. I wish I was that easily entertained.😴

Yes, I can see why it's not to everyone's taste; it's not an easy watch.   I didn't find it entertaining either.  I found it profoundly moving and thought-provoking and cried like a baby at the end.  Without a doubt, it's one of the most important TV series of recent years, with astonishing performances, direction and camera work.  Will be talked about in years to come.

Eps 1 of 'Adolescence' was interesting, as a Yank, and if true, the way a juvy is processed, and way different than my experiences in the USA.  Last scene w/vid brought it all together.

Eps 2-3-4, was simply a waste of my time.  The swat team making the arrest was totally ridiculous.  Give eps 1 a 5/10, the rest, don't bother.

I think you missed the point entirely!  It's not supposed to be a crime series.

No, didn't miss the point, it just wasn't interesting.  Showing the effects on the family of a wayward child making the news is of no interest to me.  Especially as it was presented.

So, you didn't like the 2025 movie? I generally will watch anything Woody Harrelson is in. He is such a great character.

Everyone has different taste's when it comes to movies or TV shows---but it did make history in its numbers in UK  as highest number of watches ever to a steaming site -- and Elsewhere Netflix was reporting numbers like 25 million after the  first episode.

Knife crime is a big problem in the UK ,combine that with the internet and  with "Incel" -(-Blue Pill Red pill).   It can be a social mine field for male adolescence, which a lot of older people do not understand-- I think thats what  brewsterbudgen was referring to when he wrote  "It's not supposed to be a crime series"

A forum on Reddit, called r/incels was one of the most visible meeting places for self-identified incels until it was banned by Reddit in 2017 for “violent content.”

Given that, I still thought that the last episode was quite flat , but the series---yer I thought good.

What does the term ‘incel’ mean?

That's  not saying too much, considering some of the crap movies grossing 100s of millions of $$$, and highly rated, that I wouldn't spend $5 to see.  If not for torrents, can't think of a movie of late, I'd pay to watch, even the 100 baht discount rate at theater.
