Snowy IPA

Featured Replies

Besides Lao, Dark Snowy IPA is one of my favorites that is tasty and not so costly.

I just wish my local Makro would stock it. I generally buy it at 7-11 for about 79 THB a can.

.....however I will occasionally get a 12-pack of Tapper at Makro.

Are you a fan of Snowy IPA?

Have you ever tried it?

Snowy IPA is one of my 'go to' beers, but my preference now is Tawandang IPA. (60 baht for a large can, 45 baht small one.)

Dunkel is also good as are MM32 IPA and Nite Hunter IPA.

Be careful though - Nite Hunter is 6.8%.

The Dark from Orion is also good, but at 109 baht a can..... Tawandang thank you

Also have a look at FullMoon Brew works.   › ...

These are some of the best reasonably priced IPAs available in Thailand IMO.

(about 95 baht for a 500ml can in 7-11 / but not all 7-11's have them - the one near me in Bangkok has).

From the following list, what is IPA in the context of the OP?

https://www.acronymfinder.com/IPA.html

I only know it as the Intentional Phonetic Alphabet.

I only assume you are intelligent enough to know that the OP is about beer......

.....so why is it you do not see the word 'beer' in the list from the link you provided to know what IPA is representing? I'll tell you one thing, it sure in the he77 isn't about any Alphabet..... 😆

Looked around a couple 7-11s and Makro in my 'neck of the woods' and none of the ones you mention were offered.... I'll keep looking and report if I try any.

Really would like to try that Nite Hunter.

They didn't have cans but I did pick up this 4 pack today at my local Makro....at 258 THB it's slightly more than the Lao Dark.

I never had it before and it's chilling in the fridge now. I'll report later tonight after my exercise routine what I think about it.

Thanks for the suggestion... tell me, do you know, is the can product any different in taste than the bottled one?

I've only ever had the SayPlay and Sumerlay in canned form, so cannot make a comparison.

There is a lot of good beer coming out of this brewery - I hope they keep there prices competitive.

I looked at the comments about the Snowy IPA  - I've only ever seen the Snowy Weizen and didn't like it, I was not aware they also made an IPA which I'll look out for.

I finished my exercise routine and got home about an hour ago. I opened up the first Full Moon IPA. I have to admit it went down rather smoothly and tasted fine. It gave me a nice pleasant buzz. Right now I'm working on number three. I'm sure I'll finish this 4 pack soon with no problems. I have to admit it pairs nicely with some of this gorilla cookie buds that I got.

Although I like the Full Moon IPA I think my first choice is still the Snowy IPA with it being slightly cheaper, at least where I'm at, and it has a little bit more fruity taste to my liking. However the Full Moon IPA would definitely be on the list for a second choice.

Now on my exercise walk/run tonight I went to a new 7-Eleven looking to see what they had to offer. This 7-Eleven for Full Moon had the wheat, which I've tried before and didn't like. Then it had some strawberry flavored Full Moon of some sort, but it didn't have the IPA

I mentioned 7-Eleven because I was waiting to cross the road to enter the 7-Eleven and as doing so a car came down and clipped the mirror of a parked car on the side which I was on. The car that actually hit the mirror didn't even stop. It did hit the brakes and tend to slow down but didn't stop. It just continued on. Let this be a lesson, if you park your car somewhere retract the mirrors if you can, it might save them.

Nite hunter is also found in BigC

I always try and buy the cans - better for recycling.

I have never noticed any difference in taste.

I always drink from a cold glass. Never from the can or the bottle.

Ok, I found some Night Hunter at my local Big C today and picked up 4 cans (89 THB/can).

I didn't realize it but Full Moon has a few different varieties of IPA. I picked up a 4-pack of the 'Say Play' variety. We'll see how it fairs to my taste buds.

Tonight after my scheduled evening exercise routine I'll try the Nite Hunter as I'm anxious for a decent buzz.

Will report back at a later date after I've tried both.

Thanks to those that recommended some different choices.

Cheers 🍻

I was disappointed by Tawandang IPA and Weiz, won't buy them again.

Big fan of large cans of Dunkel in a wine glass with 30ml of vodka

of course it isn't, they are taking the alcohol out of beer so I'm putting it back in

If you're looking for alcohol then just save your time and money and drink that Thai rice whiskey which is similar to gasoline or jet fuel.

Without giving my full review right now as it's only been an hour in (if that), but I got home from my daily exercise routine, took a quick shower, and now about halfway through one of those Nite Hunters. I find it to be quite appealing. Nice taste and a pretty decent buzz thus far. It's supposedly 6.8% so that's ok for me as it's doing the job, but then again I have yet to eat any dinner....... Dinner and then #2 coming!

For me, so far, Night Hunter and Snowy are pretty much a draw for my liking. Now I have 2 'go to' favorites, thanks Tropicalevo for the recommendation... 👍
