A teenager lost his life, and five others were injured after their pickup truck crashed into a utility pole in Nakhon Ratchasima Province in the early hours of 11 January.

Police from Mu Si Station and emergency responders from Sawang Witthaya Foundation in Pak Chong were dispatched to the scene in Ban Khlong Suea, Mu Si Subdistrict, Pak Chong District, following reports of the crash.

Upon arrival, they found a white Isuzu D-Max pickup truck with extensive front-end damage. Several injured victims were lying scattered on the road, and one male passenger was found dead, trapped inside the wrecked vehicle.

Rescue workers from Sawang Witthaya Foundation, Pak Chong Nana Hospital, and Mu Si Municipality provided immediate assistance to the injured and transported them to Pak Chong Nana Hospital for treatment.

One of the survivors recounted the incident, stating that the group of six friends had been returning home from a birthday party. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to swerve erratically before crashing into the utility pole. The survivor, who was ejected from the truck during the crash, sustained only minor injuries.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.

Happy birthday indeed.

How and why?

Many assumptions, no facts.

However, coming from a party......🤔

Thought teens were not able to get a licence for a truck or car.

But yeah party wonder if blood was drawn by police?

Teens would include 18 + 19 yo, isn't it?

Yeah but then that pushes it even closer to blood levels LOL  Also at 18 19 they usually give names and ages in the news.

I presume the driver was either drunk or watching his phone/playing game while the car is in motion at high speed.

Minors officially cannot buy alcohol  beverage here.

But there is always back-door liquor store(often the nearby corner shop).

Probably a good assumption.  Teenagers partying without alcohol is unheard of in Thailand.

The local Thai diner I used to frequent, constantly stocked beer and cheap syntenic wine while its customers are mostly underage students.

But they eventually stopped it after previous military regime implemented more strict alcohol control(no liquor sales near schools).

You thought wrong.

You're assuming, not presuming.  Where was alcohol, never mind drunkenness, mentioned in the article?

There are a few reasons one loses control of a vehicle. Drunk,  on the phone, talking to or arguing with others and looking away from the road, falling asleep at the wheel, driving too fast for the road conditions, all of which many do, including teens.

Yeah but is that not the AN way let's make ass um shun.  LOL

There will be more, and I still think that blood will be drawn to check for alcohol.  We are dealing with teens and an accident that took lives and is only one vehicle and those damn things that jump out in front of cars and trucks.

True there may not be booze involved but it is best to kow for sure than leave it open for parents tht will eventually want to sue the world to hve that as their trump card.

A utility pole again. This seems to happen daily, is there someone that plants a  very strong magnet in those poles?
