Transfer of visa stamp to new passport

Featured Replies

HI, I have recently renewed my UK passport. My visa is a non O based on retirement. Can I wait until my next renewal to transfer my renewal stamp to my new passport.

I asked your immigration office as recently I did transfer stamps at CW.

To my surprise they wanted my bankbook to check financial compliance to my extension retirement using money in bank method.

Previously never required.

You could have some problem if, before your next renewal, you have a 90 days notification.

My 90 days online has been rejected because of a new passport number not yet registered in their file.

That's one reason to follow @DrJack54's advice and wait until the next renewal. Use the old passport No. until then. Immigration are not aware that you have a new passport until you tell them.

Visas and extensions are still valid even though they are in the old passport.

Yes Federico, I was concerned about that but Moonlovers  response seems to overcome that concern.

Thanks everyone for responses.

Just noticed that you used an agent.

If agent also covered the financials, suggest you not do transfer at this time.

Wait till time for next extension.

If agent is handy run your plan past him.

As I  posted earlier....I did stamp transfer at CW last year.

To my surprise they wanted copy of my bank book and update.

That was a new curve ball.

have ur agent do it for u>
when he does ur extension.
UNLESS u need to visit immigration ( COR?)

than its a can of worms

I had thought about doing that. Had gotten the new passport about seven months ahead of the next extension time. Was thinking to just use the old passport number for the two online 90-day reports (which in practice have become '75-day reports') ahead of the time I'd do the next extension. But thought better of it, just play it straight. Yeah, I knew what would happen with that. Online submission with new PP number rejected, come on in, please.

Since one with a new passport will have to do a 90-day report in person, at some point and I believe even after immigration has 'officially' recognized the new PP number from an extension, I just decided to do it first, before the extension. Which worked out OK, as I also got the stamps transferred to the new PP that day. And then next online 90-day report (75-76 days later) before extension time, using the new number, sailed through.

Thanks Guys,

DrJack54, I used an agent but had the 800k. I will wait for next extension to transfer stamp.

Thanks again
