This isn't the complete picture.  There was also rioting by immigrants where the police basically walked away and let them get on with it.  Then, when non-immigrants rioted later, they were pretty firm with them.  You can't really remove the context of a recent riot that relates in some way.

There's a supermarket in the midlands somewhere without its manager...  and this is all this guy is good for - that he made it to PM astonishes me.. how a vote of no confidence has not yet been called is a bigger surprise.

I've never seen a more catastrophic fall in public support in my near 45 years of watching British politics. Setting aside the despicable riots etc I predicted that we were sailing close to IMF bailout territory again ( Healy, 1976 ). 

 

I now see politicos saying that Reeves is being treated for depression as her budget was a disaster and the UK cost of borrowing is soaring. 

 

The problem is that thousands of businesspeople are selling up and leaving the country with their capital. Who in their right mind would subject themselves to this Labour tax and pension policy when Dubai is offering tax free living.

So you think it's OK for a country to forcibly evict people from their native homeland in order to pathetically hand it over to the US to build a military facility, and then over decades prevent these people from being allowed to return home? Do you even know the history of this saga or how unfairly and inhumanely these people have been treated?

If Starmer reverses this decision then it just cements the UK's position as America's lapdog. I hope he stands firm and does the correct moral - and legal - thing.

There is absolutely no need to itemize the reasons why, they are many and varied, but mostly broken promises, coupled with him and Reeves having no understanding whatsoever regarding the economy and budget.

 

Yes it is fair, yes it is justified, the sooner he is gone, together with his cabinet, the better.

 

I have always advocated the rule of democracy, I have always followed and supported the will of the majority, feeling that if that is what the people want, I will do my best to make it work, but reserve my right to try and change other people’s minds.

In this case Starmer only has the support of 36% of the voting public, yet a massive majority in parliament, due to this he can pretty much do what he wants, as we have been witnessing.

Time for him to be replaced by someone who will represent the will of the people better.

Perhaps, more importantly, it is time for a change to a more representative make up of Parliament, where the amount of votes cast nationwide, equals the amount of seats each party wins in an election.

Im not British, dont live there and only know what I read in (mostly) leftist news. My values do not accord with those of Mr. Starmer, based on what I have read, but thats not my business. My main interest in Blighty is their ability to assist us in developing and continuing and expanding the power of the English speaking world.
