 The self delusions can be startling. If a foreign male does not already occupy a high position in the social hierarchy, then he has almost no chance of ever having a stable relationship with a woman who is considered to be hi so. Who cares about "High Society" anyway? Ludicrous. Just adds more stress to any relationship. I don't want to be paraded around to be seen nor to have a partner who needs or feels the need to do that. I escaped from "HiSo" and love my freedom. More important is to find someone you like and who likes you....unless you need to marry into money.

And you would know this ... by the endless stories of irresponsible gift giving by men to women, and then calling them good diggers.

There's gold diggers everywhere, every profession, every 'class' of people.

 

A fools & their money, surely doesn't represent the masses.  Not in my world anyway

 

Not by the successful relationships of the same folks, that doesn't get a lot of air play.  Most I know of or think of couples that may have met originally in a business arrangement (not that I'd ever ask) are quite happy together.  Sharing their life still with no gold digging going on.

To offer an actual actionable suggestion:

 

Try meetups.com. I go to 3 a week. There's aways a sprinkling of 30-ish Thai and Chinese women. Also, Internations (which I don't go to because it's def a bit of a sausage fest).

 

If I do 3 meetups, that generally generates one date -which then goes nowhere.

 

I broadly agree with the sentiments here about money. Given the broad income equality here, you will likely be dealing with a lower middle class person who will have some money problems that just naturally accrue from having no money. And if you have a relationship with them, you will want to help them.

 

I went out with a woman who owns her home in the suburbs and works at a power plant. She's a responsible, non-grabby person. But if she makes even $20K a year, I'd be surprised. I we got involved and she had a problem with her roof, what am I, rolling around in baht, supposed to do?

 

So that's who you'll likely be mixing with, not lawyers and brain surgeons. OK-ish women who love Buddha, their family, and then you a very distant third.
