The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre in Pattaya received a report at approximately 07.35 on January 21, of a car crash involving a minivan and a parked bus. The collision occurred on Thappraya Road heading towards Jomtien Beach in Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Rescue volunteers were promptly dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a severely damaged grey Honda Accord (registration from Surin) wedged into the rear of a parked bus (registration from Bangkok). Inside the wreckage, two injured individuals were trapped bu their legs, Mr. Suriyaphong, aged 33, and Ms. Thanyachanok, aged 31.

Rescue workers used hydraulic rescue equipment to extract the victims from the vehicle. Both were given first aid at the scene before being rushed to hospital for further treatment.

Investigators also noted a silver Toyota minivan (registration from Bangkok), which had been involved in the incident but was only slightly damaged.

Mr. Sunthorn Thongma, the 47-year-old driver of the minivan, explained that he had been driving to pick up tourists at Jomtien Beach when the Honda Accord appeared out of nowhere, grazing his vehicle and causing him to almost lose control. Fortunately, Mr. Sunthorn managed to manoeuvre the minivan to safety, avoiding any injuries. The Accord, however then slammed into the rear of the parked bus, resulting in injuries to its occupants.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

You can tell from the aftermarket wheels and suspension parts, that this is a Thai race car driver, how dare the bus and minivan get in his way!

Thappraya is 4th best Pattaya racing track after Sukhumvit,  Thepprasit and Jomtien 2nd Rd. 😖
