No male Thai friends after years of living here? Help for the lonely farangs left out.
I was riding (motorcycle) with 3 Thai aquaintances a few years back when we stopped to pay the fee to enter a national park. The fee was 30 Baht per Thai and 300 Baht for a foreigner. When they heard this they were shocked and remonstrated with the guy that I had lived in Thailand for years and should pay only 30 Baht. They were pretty angry and started shouting at the man. He wouldn't budge. In the end they decided not to pay any fees and we went the long way to avoid cutting through the Park. Now these guys weren't really my friends, we were just riding together, but they stuck up for me because I was part of their group. -

OMG who the hell wants to be on a crap AA flight for that long! They are already abhorrent for a 3 hour regionally. Sheesh, only the despotic of brokies would tolerate a fuel stop and this long on crap seats, and having to pay for even the menial junk food instant ramens, give me a break. And what typical SEA person can afford freaking Paris? Its like 30-40 bucks for breakfast there, 100 bucks a night at least, and you get to dodge the crime and invaders ravaging the city. Tony says he is not trying to take market share,, ha! yes you are! what kind of moronic statement is that? When you compete , you take a share of the pie! duh. I can't stand air asia, these 20 year old smart ass thai girls working at the front check in counters at DMK all got that deer in the headlights look, ready to charge you up the ass for 1gram over weight on your bag. oh and dont forget your money to pay for your water! 100 baht for that, another 100 for your junk noodles by a bunch of quick trained tier 3 high schoolers just graduated with broken ENgRish. "oh look at me, im so sophisticate, i travel to Paris" is going to be all over their instahoegrams. Only take AA if there are no other flights, and be sure to upgrade yourself fully to avoid being treated and feeling like a total fkn looser traveler. -

Texas Floods
True, here you only get rain half the time and hot all the time, where you can't do anything outside besides the beach when it's hot, with more bugs than almost anywhere, 48 varieties of venomous snakes, the worst drivers on the planet, some of the worst schools anywhere, and a sense that it isn't home. But it's okay if you have AC and are okay with staying inside a large part of the time. The best places to live have 4 seasons, with some having no bugs around, good living conditions, safer driving, good schools and a place you can call home without any fears of being subject to visa changes that might get worse. But, if you're really happy where you live....... -
