  Eh, you must have misunderstood me , I have stated that I would nt call for anyone to be deported for playing music on stage in Thailand or in any other Country and that goes for ALL Nationalities in any Country .

   People shouldn't be arrested or deported for playing music on stage and that's for all nationalities in all Countries

A professional in any field who enters a foriegn country on a tourist visa and then plies their trade in an establisment that benefits from that work is breaking immigration law, and should not be surprised at consequences. That basic concept is most likely part of your country's Immigration legislation.

Would a house painter or carpenter take on a job  when on holiday? Musicians are not as special as many of them think.

We all like music, and most of us are happy to get a show for the price of a few drinks instead of paying massive, overinflated sums for a concert ticket.  The victims are the local band who miss out on a booking or the competing venue that loses customers. 

To characterise it as jamming, is disingenuous if doing it in a commercial establishment for an audiance.

Whats different in Thailand is the unwieldy work permit process, instead of a more simplified business or entertinment visa for those who come for work.

Enforcement of the law here can be quite lax which may tempt many to breach the rules, but when action is taken it's usually over the top without comprimise nor compassion. Our countries may be more flexible in the same situation.

Musicians are not known for intellect and they can have a superiority complex, but laws apply to all.
