The only good thing coming out of all of this is that the Europeans are now wringing their hands and starting to think seriously about actually building their own defence capabilities.

 

The preliminary outcomes are interesting: UK has announced it will send troops to Ukraine (but anxiously awaiting others - the Scandinavians probably, I think). And Macron has said - surprisingly in my view - that France won't. The only point of sending them (in my view) would be if they're ready & equipped to fight. 'Peacekeeping' when there's no real peace is ridiculous.

 

Meantime the poor Ukrainians continue to slug it out.

People need look at the bigger picture. China is in that picture. Trump doesn't want Putin getting to cozy with Xi. There's a geopolitical game happening here in the background you can bet your bottom dollar on it.

That's silly. The Russia-China nexus is solid. Also Trump caving to Putin will embolden Xi to attack Taiwan. If Putin can get away with it, why not him?

If you bothered to look at the vid you'll see that what he said can be taken another way i.e. should have negotiated a way out rather than going in. Can't blame Zelenskyy though as Russia did invade and the war mongering Biden administration supported, some would say encouraged Zelenskyy to respond militarily.
