Bring seeds to Thailand

Featured Replies

Hello,

My family is coming to visit soon and I would like them to bring some seeds from France. They are seeds for personal use in our garden. Can anyone tell me if this is possible? If so, should they put them in checked or cabin baggage?

Thank you for your help.

I know a few people who have brought back tomato, lettuce, carrot, etc. etc. etc. seeds for personal use in their luggage and they have never had any problems.

Because they didn't get caught

Plenty of people probably brought in cocaine & heroin, and never had a problem also :cheesy:

It is all right bring back seeds from our own countries, but it is another thing getting them to grow here in Thailand, this subject has come up before members bring back seeds they like from they own country, only to find they do not grow here ,just too hot ,or the local pests and funguses get them .i.e. can anyone grow potatoes ?,I have tried with no luck at all.

You would be better off just buying local seeds and growing them.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'll try to see if I can't find some local seeds indeed. I'll have better luck growing them for sure.
