Saw this lizard on our roof - sorry couldn't any nearer - anybody know what it is?

Blue Crested Lizard 

Looks like the common Tokay Gecko.

 

Edit: The Blue Crested Lizard looks like a good possibility thumbs up👍

Well it DID change colour - it was bright blue then went a dingy brown - thanks!

Bigger then the geckos I see in the house.....

Blue Crested Lizard Calotes Mystaceus. Can be seen in Bangkok's parks.

 

They can quickly change colour according to emotional and environmental challenges.

 

Generally blue is the colour in the breeding season, brown outside it.

 

Maybe when it decided you were a threat, it no longer felt loved up.
