You will get an entry stamp.  Yes, get a new TM30.

It all depends on the office. The office in Ratchaburi that I use has said they dont require a new TM30, unless you have a new passport.

 

I’m in Pattaya and always do once I return. It may not be necessary but I’d rather not take the chance. Easy enough to do. 

At Jomtien you only need a new TM30 if returning to the same residence, only if you get a new passport. I found this recently when I needed a residence certificate for my driving licence.

I found from my experience Jomtien to be otherwise.

The TM 30 I have I have predate COVID, 2022 I got a new Passport they transfered the TM30 to my new Passport.

A year ago confusion as to whether a new one needed to be obtained I returned March 5th, visited Immigration prepared if necessary to file new told by two IO, desk not necessary since I had a Imm-o, returning to same address.

Due to age of my TM30, they offer to replace it if I wanted but I decline due to time of waiting.

I'm not sure why you think having (or not having) an exit stamp is relevant - it isn't. You will get an entry stamp when you re-enter in any case.

 

Are you returning using a re-entry permit, or a new visa?

Why do you think an exit stamp is irrelevant?

 

I think it is relevant because it proves departure from the country on a certain date through the proper immigration process, an illegal border crossing point wasn’t used. The stamp would be hard evidence, with the entry stamp, proving the amount of time in Thailand, which is very important for the new income tax qualification rule of being in Thailand 180 days or more in a calendar year.

 

I use a re-entry permit.

To clarify, what I meant is that having (or not having) an exit stamp is irrelevant with regards to the question if you need to submit a new TM30 notification (what this thread is about).

 

That's because exiting Thailand doesn't trigger any TM30 notification requirement. Re-entering, on the other hand, might - depending on your immigration office and visa status.
