Why don't the African hookers use the same short-time rooms as everyone else?

Maybe they are not allowed in?  Makes sense.  Wonder if they add 300 baht to their fee when using their own room?

There is certainly an undercurrent of racism to the whole story!

The majority of condo owners are Thai.  All owners, both Thai and foreign are breaking the law by intentionally renting to whoever they can for whatever number of days.  And of course daily rental rates are higher than monthly rental rates and nobody prosecutes anybody for almost anything including murder, rape and incest.   Also, didn’t we all move to this country because you can slip and slide between the laws that seem meant to be broken.   Thais break them all the time and we just follow their lead.

It’s math.  A good girl can do 6 or more “massages” in a day.  Renting is much cheaper.

The Big condo near far end of soi 4 is very large condo with  a mix of rooms that include a registered hotel operation with a front desk etc along with several on site property managers who control  blocks of rooms that they lease out mostly all on monthly or longer basis though many of them also did daily rentals.  There were also quite a few owner occupants who bought units there long ago and many still live there.

I lived there long ago when it was a reasonably pleasant place but even then there were always lots of gals brought in as overnight or short term visitors to people renting there.  Then over time the building did a lousy job of manitenance and pest control and cockroaches were rampant everywhere (the small four legged ones)....then more and more indians either bought or rented in the building and the number of people living /renting in some of the units greatly increased as did problems at the pool of people swimming in street clothes along with screaming kids running unchecked....there was never any serious security that i can recall.  For whatever reason I never really saw much attempts to clean it all up and I moved out.

This was 15+ or so years ago and from what i have seen and heard the building continues to go down hill.  It is no surprise to me but it is sad especially for those who bought units in what was once , when new, a very nice condo building.  I do remember once thinking of buying there but am very very happy that i did not.

Ignoring the silliness,  the world has an issue with short term rentals. As a condo occupant i have a problem with short time rentals. If I wanted to live in a hotel, I would have a room in hotel. A lot of short time renters party and don't care about the property. I chose a condo for the quieter, relaxed environment and short time rentals interfere. I dont think condos should be rented for less then 1 month stays.

Isn't 1 month minimal rental the law

another one, the new 'mecca' of Nana, Sukhumvit Sweetistan, full of young bearded south asians, with their covered extended families, coming and going all hours of the night with suitcases, ignoring signs and security, spitting in elevators and poolside, while sneering at local resident infidels, causing rents to plunge and enough reason for long time residents to move out.

So, as long as the sex worker involved is renting her condo long term, and just inviting two or three guests to her place  each day, no problem? Better than an ordinary tourist illegally renting the condo for only a couple of weeks?

That's the "people's party" for you. Campaigning against sex, with a bit of racism ("black women") and discrimination ("foreign ownership") thrown in.

Right. What about all those Thai prostitution sites that advertise for Thai guys (and for foreign guys who can read and write Thai)? The girls are all in condos/apartments (in-call) - so Thai guys coming and going (no pun) multiple times per day. Or so a friend told me 🙂

But...but......but I thought that the authorities/police  said that there was no prostitution in Thailand?

They have never said that.

It was quoted on here quite a long time ago (I've been here for more than 20 years)

No such quote has ever been made.  It's one of those (many) myths.

I know what I saw, but it's not worth arguing about, because the next thing is that you'll be asking me for a "link" and if you think I am going to trawl back through 15+ years of ThaiVisa posts - think again!!

If you want peace and quiet the most perfect place to buy a condo is right in the middle of a red light district.  I don't see how the cannabis is a problem for other residents or even how they know its there, unless they go into the units in question.  Seems to be always used as an provable allegation in these condo rental accusations.

I would've never lived in or close to the Nana area purely on the basis that it's just always too busy there, too congested with people & vehicles.

I agree.  Now where is that "no tell" condo.
