In a disturbing case that has shocked Prachuap Khiri Khan province, Technology Crime Suppression Division officers have arrested a male teacher on charges of posting indecent images of boys under 13. The arrest followed a March 5 operation at Kui Buri Police Station, triggered by a report from the US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Operating under the pseudonym "A," the suspect was summoned for questioning after indecent images surfaced online. A search of his residence, conducted by cyber police and Region 7 investigators, uncovered numerous illegal images on his computers, which the suspect admitted to taking himself.

This investigation has identified five victims, aged between 7 and 17, with some reportedly enduring abuse for over a decade. The case has galvanized the involvement of various agencies, including the Education Department and local social services, who are working together to support the victims and pursue legal action.

The mother of one victim, shocked by the news, shared her distress and emphasized the necessity of handling the case through legal channels. Meanwhile, the school's director has advised parents to withhold information from media outlets to protect the involved children.

The suspect faces multiple charges under Thai law. Possession of child pornography for sexual exploitation could result in up to five years in prison and a fine of no more than 100,000 baht (approximately US$2,975). Additionally, charges for indecent acts against children under 13 could lead to a prison sentence of one to 10 years and fines between 20,000 and 200,000 baht. If the offenses involve children under 15, penalties could reach up to 10 years of imprisonment and a 200,000 baht fine.

Authorities plan to transfer the suspect to Bangkok for further investigation, as the central cyber police unit intensifies efforts to ensure justice and prevent further harm, reported The Thaiger.
