Popular Post Robert_Smith Posted 3 hours ago Popular Post Posted 3 hours ago To my mind, after decades of living here I see nothing has moved on/improved. Thais still behave like ignorant, arrogant, petulant children. They are brainwashed to the max. The school system is a joke. Healthcare is OK (only if you have money) The wages are a laughing stock. Pollution is a disgrace. The pavements are a dangerous joke, with more holes than a dry sponge.. The locals seem totally oblivious to what's is going on in the outside world, what's more important is whether it's moo ping or som tum for lunch... The government and constant change in leadership is a joke. The police are on the take 24/7 and driving standards are absolutely abysmal. Did I miss anything? Feel free to add your thoughts/comments. regards, bob. 1 4 1 1

save the frogs Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago there are some advantages when countries are less developed. like street food vendors are not banned as in farangland, for instance. 1

Popular Post Stocky Posted 3 hours ago Popular Post Posted 3 hours ago Thailand is considered a developing country with an upper-middle income status, it's not classed as a third world country, though the term third world country is now outdated and would be replaceable with economically underdeveloped, which Thailand isn't considered to be. 1 3 1

ravip Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago To my mind, after decades of living here I see nothing has moved on/improved. Obviously you don't have any better place to go to? So this is the best for you, why complain? If TH becomes "1st world", where would you go to? (mostly its the 1st world people who comes to TH, isn't it?) 2

MalcolmB Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Where do you live in Thailand? Here in BangTao, Phuket is not third world. But I doubt you could afford to live here. Every country has slums and poor.

Etaoin Shrdlu Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Those aren't bugs, they're features! But I'm surprised a cashed-up guy like you would have even noticed any of that, living in the cushy cocoon that mega-bucks buy.

BritManToo Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I've always been treated very fairly by the government hospitals, police and courts. The government schools did a good job with my daughter, and now my son. Banking, mobile and internet services are much better than currently available in the UK. But like nearly all of Asia, it's still the 3rd world. 1

bkk6060 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago It is the low education, thinking of the majority and corruption that makes it close to 3rd world.
