This purported financial impropriety, pointedly involving up to 138 senators, suggests a breach of public trust and widespread systemic abuse.

Isn't that also the exact number of Senators being investigated for election irregularities??

There will always be corrupt people when there is little rule of law. Thailand needs to put more senior people in jail.

And that hits the nail on the head, as the Thai 'version' of Buddhism allows them to become a Monk/Nun for a short spell, Make Merit, do a few dozen Wai's and all will be forgiven and even forgotten !    A Country that just lives on excuses for all wrongs, no matter how serious those wrongs may be.

One person's corruption is another person's discretion.

Discretion, the power to decide or act according to one's own judgment, can be a breeding ground for corruption if not properly regulated and transparently managed, as unchecked discretion can lead to abuse and opportunities for illicit gain

in other words Corruption !

I thought pilfering money, corruption, theft etc was the "raison d'être" for getting into Thai politics, political parties, etc

Discretion transparently managed as in the Police Order we discussed? That whole thing exists because the 'legitimate reason'  was not transparently managed.

It doesn't say which political party.

It's obviously a party many senators support and vice versa.

I suppose this answers my question.
