A hypocritical politician?  Never heard of such a thing!

The true hypocrisy is making vaping illegal whilst cigarettes are legal. You either make both legal or both illegal.

Not many MP's in the government parties would pass that test.

  • Where are you seeing its allowed for personal use? Can you share a link as I understood it to be illegal to have vapes here

It should spark outrage.

the anti-vape laws and campaigns are so ridiculous that the countries' leaders can't even be bothered to pretend that they aren't

Nope. Get your facts right.

so help us do that by providing a source.

you are certain, show us why.

Can't see what the issue is, I am sure the other 200 Army General MP's have been up to a lot worse in there

Try reading the article. Damn! Some people. Actually never mind I'll make it easy for you.

"More compelling is the fact that possession of e-cigarettes in Thailand is illegal in itself, an infraction which could result in imprisonment, fines, or both, with penalties reaching up to 500,000 Thai Baht."

Satisfied????????

BTW no one who vapes that I know calls them e-cigarettes. They're called vapes.

Now you're just trolling. Stop it. possession of e-cigarettes in Thailand is illegal I'm hoping your grasp on English is sufficient enough that you can understand this.

They are only "cool" to idiots those who want to go to an early grave.

no, some of them are mentholated.

Within the hallowed Halls of Parliament, that's a good one that's a bit like Trump and Vance saying within the sacred space of the Oval Office.

Sorry to inform but there's nothing hollowed or sacred about a space that's desecrated by corruption, favoritism and politics that refuse to address the needs of the people.

Nothing is sure here. As vaping is fairly new, they don´t have any statistics of long term effects. Therefore it´s impossible to say today. Out of what I have been read, I would make the conclusion that it has to do with age and your smoking habits. Both those factors will direct the outcome. They see vaping as generally healthier than regular cigarettes. However, that is based on vaping being a cleaner form of nicotine as some ingredients are removed or minimized. How maybe too clean nicotine in larger doses will affect our health, that remains to be seen.

Nicotine is needed by our bodies in smaller amounts.  Cigarettes have many hundreds of chemicals mixed with the tobacco, of which nicotine alone is not the addictive part.  There are at least 90 chemicals added which are considered carcinogenic as well as addictive.  The tobacco industry in the US are now involved in the food industry since smoking has declined, as a result the addiction lessons learned from tobacco are now being added to food.

We have nicotine receptors in our body, so nicotine is quite a necessary part of our life.  You will find quite a fair amount of nicotine in eggplant as well as tomatoes.  Guess you’re not addicted to that?

You are correct, vaping is relatively new.  However, so far one has been able to establish that well reputed companies producing the liquid is much less harmful than cigarettes.  Personally, I find it shameful that vaping is not permitted but smoking is.  The hypocrisy is amazing.  As others have mentioned, tax it, regulate it, but allow it.
In Thailand I believe it is the families who own the tobacco industry who are up in arms, I doubt that they really care about people’s health.

Business at the front, party at the back.

Still looks bad but I'd give my right arm for a barnet like that.

Unfortunately, it is the law.

Also, smoking (of anything) in parliament and other government premises is banned.

Some people need to be told multiple times the part about the smoke free status of government premises, and even then they still refuse to accept the reality. Instead ,they are intent on pushing their personal bias.

I do not understand why so many folk think that vaping and smoking cigarettes are the same.

OK.

With both, you suck in crap and stuff up your lungs.

Both contain nicotine.

https://vapingadvisor.com/learn/nicotine-cigarette-vs-vape/

There the similarity ends.

The manufacture of cigarettes is controlled and taxed.

There is zero control and tax on what people in a back street garage put into the vape liquid.

Many products sold for vaping contain drugs.

Critics pointed out that MPs, as public figures and lawmakers, are expected to exemplify legal and ethical conduct.  🤣

Back street garages and many vapes containing drugs? Seems your the type who believes what your led to believe. That's a lot of garages making a lot of vapes. 100s of millions of vapes per year would IMO be an underestimate. As for containing drugs well yes there's nicotine but apart from that zero unless they are specifically produced for that purpose. As for the nicotine itself there are varying degrees of nicotine strengths and indeed what's said to be nicotine free. The biggest unknown I guess are the chemicals and flavourings in the juice. As for cigarettes being controlled and taxed that correct. Doesn't make cigs safer than vapes though..
