Popular Post ronster Posted 13 hours ago Popular Post Posted 13 hours ago Never seen a country so obsessed where they rank on lists to do with travel and tourism. Most of which are pointless or basically bought positions. Yet they say tourism only makes up a small percentage of the countries revenue. 3

Sydebolle Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Suvarnabhumi is Number Two? Then I assume automatically, that Number One must be Don Meuaioing, better known as Don Muang airport and Number Three to Twenty are all within Thailand. The rest of 21st century aerodromes, like Singapore; Hong Kong etc. in Asia come much, much later. 1

newnative Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago 21 hours ago, Yagoda said: I like Swampy. Its far better than Frankfurt or JFK or Boston. Have not used JFK or Boston but Frankfurt was old and bad. Also bad, in my opinion, Dubai. What a lousy airport that is--for a passenger. Maybe it works better as a mall or whatever. The last two or three times we used it there wasn't even a walkway bridge to enter and exit the plane from the terminal on landing and departing. Instead, a long, cramped, standing up bus ride out to the middle of nowhere to board the plane just like they did in the dawn of flight in the last century. And, along with the very long walks, there were waits for elevator rides to different levels, and a train ride also thrown in. You'd think the train ride would at least finally get you to your plane. Think again. The bus ride was next. At least there wasn't a camel ride after the bus--small favors. I guess we could all pretend we were the President of the US as we trudged up the steep outdoor steps to get on the plane. Wave to the Press, folks! And, we were flying Emirates on all the flights, which should have had the best landing slots at the terminal. The last Emirates trip back from Europe was delayed 4 hours at the Dubai layover--this in addition to the regular 3-hour layover--no apology or explanation from the pilot. In my opinion that airline has gone downhill recently. Suvarnabhumi isn't perfect but what a refreshing relief after Dubai. Deplaned right into the terminal. Very fast Immigration now--a real breeze--and we were at Baggage Claim very quickly and then on our way. I will try to avoid Dubai on my next trip. 1
NedR69 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I think it's great AFTER you go thru security, before that it's hard to hear anyone talk.

Bohemianfish Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago That place is a madhouse and there's nowhere to sit.
impulse Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Compared to the bad old days, Swampy has really upped their game across the board. In 23 consecutive monthly visits, I usually wait less than 5 minutes at immigration or security. Only once did I wait more than 2 or 3 minutes for a taxi, last month when the ticket machine was broken. It was just like the bad old days of 30 minute queues for a taxi. I do wish they'd install more seating in places where people do have to wait, like for our flights, downstream of security and immigration. But I suppose they want to herd the passengers into the overpriced eateries.

However, can't fix a disaster design. It's like a mad kindergarten kid was given a piece of paper and a crayon. As for the awful fabric roof, garbage is too polite a description, and they needed to install AC that worked.
steven100 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago yes...the airport is the best in the world and the taxis and Bangkok rated #1 and Pattaya is world's best and soi dog crap is the best in Asia and everything here is world 1st ..... 1
Patong2021 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago No need to get excited. This is an OPEN 3 month poll, where people, or bots could vote as many times as they want. It is neither scientific nor reliable in its methodology. It is regionally biased. Don't be fooled. How can Philippines, Vietnam or Garuda airlines be selected as a top airline?Notice how EVA, ANA are not mentioned? These 3 airlines rate consistently ahead ofthe other 3 mentioned. Look at the airports. Bali? Seriously? Jakarta? The frequent flyer programs called the best are often cited as the worst in other worldwide surveys.

Mr Meeseeks Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Jakarta, Bali, and KL above Hamad in Doha? Not a chance in a million years. The Al Mourjan Garden lounge was voted the best business class lounge in the World in 2024 by Skytrax. I prefer CX Gold in Hong Kong myself but the lounges in Doha are spectacular.
