Hua Hin Beach

Featured Replies

Is Hua Hin beach really as bad as some people say it is, I walk it often, is good, but have never swum there.

There are a lot of rocks just under the water line in some places.

They are covered in shells and if you swim and hit those shells the result is pretty painful.

A cut in saltwater is to be avoided.

For the rest,it is just another beach and very nice to walk on.

I prefer Cha-Am.  Been to both. Hua Hin was mediocre at at best.

It's a good walking beach when the tide is not too high.  Unfortunately, the tide is only low enough to walk most of the beach a few hours a day, and sometimes like today, that's in the middle of the day when it's really hot.  No chance I'd ever swim there.

Hua Hin has many beaches. A few small sections have rocks. Most areas don't.

I would avoid swimming in it.  Looks nice, well, the southern end.  If you need some convincing, go to the north end, (old Mod Guesthouse area) where the pier guesthouses and restaurants start at low tide, and let your nose confirm the obvious.

First place I ever stayed at in Hua Hin (Mod), 24 yrs ago, before it was built up the the level today, and the smell of sewage was in the air most of the day, and so much more so at low tide.  End of the pier then was easily 40 meters away from the street.

I put HH up there with one of the dirtiest (fecal count) beaches I've ever been at.... IMHO

If looking for a nice beach, Hua Hin would definately not be the first place to go.

Even the beaches around Pattaya look cleaner and more welcoming.

Hua HIn got it's reputation due to other factors and by the fact that people at the top level of power, took to the area as a week-end retreat.

Hi,

Juts use Grab, 75THB, go to Takiep Beach ! 10 mn drive.

Very nice sandy beach, umbrella & chairs, beach restaurant, beach coffee/coktail bar, wild, the best spot in Hua Hin.

And no horses every 2mn walking in front of you. (1 or 2 are still around)

Phil.
