Major E-Cigarette Distributor Arrested in Thailand Crackdown

Thai police arrested a major e-cigarette distributor, Nopthanarong, who allegedly coordinated sales for a Chinese financier. The 56-year-old suspect, previously imprisoned for drug offenses, was linked to a March 7 raid that seized 30,000 e-cigarettes and refills. Arrested on March 14 under a Nonthaburi court warrant, he admitted to collecting payments but denied ownership. Authorities seized a Mercedes-Benz and continue investigating the true masterminds. Police have warned the public about the legal risks of possessing or selling e-cigarettes, which are banned under Thai law.
