The Bangkok Post reported the cooperation between the two police forces after he was identified using facial recognition technology when he was still in Thailand and his plans to return to the UK were discovered.

There are 2 on here like that. My brother in law is in Thailand, he raped my niece from the age of 8 and abused her brother. My sister, their mum killed herself over it and after that the boy killed himself. These bastards ruin lives and destroy families.

Around 32 years ago in Victoria, Australia, the public feeling about court penalties being too small, that the then state government took out a full page add in the largest newspaper, suggesting various increased penalties, asking the public to tick their preferred choice and return the page by post.

I think it's a pretty difficult. Passports in the past used to be "dumb", nowadays they contain chips that are read in a scanner when you pass through immigration. He must have spent a lot of money in order to have a full identity swap with someone who is still alive.

You can still buy forged Passports with RFID chip  but again it what you want to pay for it !! Passports not only include a RFID chip but  every country’s passports have different features, it is easy to tell a professionally printed passport from something made on a small scale. Set aside the problem of craftsmanship though, because your bigger problem is getting a passport that can be verified electronically. Serial numbers, other ID info on the passport, and the MRV zone (the line of characters along the bottom) all have internal logics to them which can be verified, even without access to a passport database. Also, more and more countries are sharing basic data with one another to verify authenticity of bio data on passports, making even the most high quality fake a moot point.

much more common (and harder to detect) is using identify theft to obtain a real document using false pretenses.

He is quite possibly in HMP Whatton, a specialist prison for sex offenders. The majority of inmates are older men. Its a Cat C prison, which does include men due for release.

 

The bigger concern will likely be him coming into contact with men being released, and somehow influence them. At his trial, while he plead guilty to half of the charges, e expressed no remorse, and even suggested his victims enjoyed it.

The police used a free app, Pimeyes, to identify him in Thailand. What they did then after they identified him is not clear. Pimeyes is not officially cleared to use as a forensic tool for the police, and the Met Police are now blocked from using it. I suspect they could not use that tool in any extradition request, so I suppose the next step would have been for officers to visit "Peter Smith" in Phuket, but that would have taken years. I doubt that Polish App could even have been used to put in an application to cancel his passport.

Detective Inspector Eleanor Atkinson of Cheshire Police led the investigation. She expressed relief at the trial outcome, emphasizing the persistent pursuit of justice. "This case is a warning: no matter how long you hide, we will find you, and you will face justice," she stated.

 

 

The conviction of Burrows sends a strong message about the unwavering efforts to seek justice for victims of sexual offences. Atkinson urges victims to speak out, reassuring them of comprehensive support from police and allied agencies.

It was. This arrest, was almost certainly due to facial recognition. Now everything is being digitised such as driving licences, passports and the upcoming digital ID, this will become a thing of the past. DNA has led to apprehension of suspects previously, now with facial recognition globally, there is no escape.

You sure about that? Typically, the  public officials implicated in child molestation rings are law and order types such as police,  vicars, and conservatives social value campaigners.
